Please point me to some good 2 player card games, either some good geek lists or recommends. Prefer non-collectible due to monetary constraints.

Do yourself a favor and get the Penguin Encyclopedia of Card Games. It's well organized and has tons of great 2-players. Can't get cheaper that a standard deck of playing cards.

Played Jambo last night for the first time. Was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Corsari for two? We've been unimpressed. You can lose before you've even had a turn.

I'm sure you'll get many excellent recommendations for commercially produced card games here, so I'll give you a couple other ideas.

The following site has numerous games listed, many of which are two player:

http://www.pagat.com/

Also, if you can buy or borrow a copy of Sid Sackson's "A Gamut of Games", the first game listed is a devious two player card game called "Mate."

In addition to some great games here: Mystery Rummy Al Capone.

My wife, in-laws well everyone really likes it and it very easy to teach.

You should check out the entire Kosmos line of two-player card games, like Lost Cities, Jambo, Odin's Ravens, Hera & Zeus, Blue Moon, etc.
