Hi everyone. I am trying to compile a list of trusted online game sellers. This is for personal purchases only. I would just like to have some good choices (preferably east coast). Like anyone else, I am looking for the best price, but what good is the best price if the game never gets to you? I am really looking for companies that you have dealt with that have shown integrity in their transactions in addition to offering competitive pricing. You may have actually had a screw-up with your order, but you were very satisfied with the way the company handled the situation. That would be a cool recommendation as well. I have been dealing with Cardhaus, and they have offered competitive pricing and prompt service. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They are on the west coast, however, and the games take a little longer to reach me than I'd like.

Thanks,

Gary

I've had good luck with the following two companies:

Bunker Hill Games located in New Hampshire
www.Bunkerhillgames.com

and Noble Knight Games located in Wisconsin
www.Nobleknight.com

They are not in Colorado, as I initially thought, but Georgia.

I'd add boardsandbits.com and levalet.com (Canadian -- but with cheap shipping to the US) to the list.

Thoughthammer's not on the east coast, but they're in the middle at least. They've provide outstanding service for me. In once case, I placed advance orders for multiple games- a $100+ order that qualified for free shipping, but only if the whole thing shipped at once. All of my order except for one game came in stock in April. The last game, Age of Steam, was delayed and delayed again. Rather than making me wait (until what was ultimately September), Thoughthammer shipped the games that were in stock and then sent Age of Steam (with no additional shipping cost) when it came in. They would have been entirely within their rights to hold the whole order.

I also love boardsandbits.com, but they're just down the road from Cardhaus (which is also good), so they won't save you on shipping time.

I have had good experiences with many of the above retailers (Boards & Bits, Thought Hammer, Games Surplus, Time Well Spent). The shipping from Le Valet d'Coeur was slow, but for $5 from Canada, shipping around the holidays, I expected as such.

I also have received good service from House Full of Games and Fun Again.

My favorite is Fair Play Games. An excellent store with great prices. They are in Michigan... sort of close to the east coast comparatively...

You should use http://www.michaelareed.com/boardgamesearch/ to compare and find the best prices. All of the sellers listed on that site are reliable in my experience.

My favorite online store is Thought Hammer (http://www.thoughthammer.com/) because I think they generally have the best prices, and give free shipping on orders over $100. They also have outstanding service.

I've also created a listing of most online games stores, which you can access at: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/csss/csss-other-resources.html

Other good ones I've used, and been very happy with, include:
-Fair Play Games (http://www.fairplaygames.com/)
-Time Well Spent (http://www.timewellspent.org/content/home.php)

I also asked the same question in these forums back on July 8, 2005, and you can view the responses I received by going to: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/546001

While Noble Knights is a little pricey compared to some others, they have the fastest shipping and top-notch support. Plus they keep a lot of OOP and used games in their inventory. When I got my copy of Caylus from them, they were the only one I found that actually had it in stock.

The Compleat Strategist is in NYC. Prices are so-so, but they let you join a "club" that gives you discounts over time. They were very nice when I visited them in person back in April 2005.

Of the stores you hear the most about, none are in the East. I've always thought this was strange - that's where the bulk of the US population is. Anyone know the reason for this?

www.fairplaygames.com - good prices, good selection, excellent customer service

www.gamesurplus.com - slightly better prices, smaller selection, excellent customer service

www.bouldergames.com - prices like gamesurplus, better selection than either of the others, ok customer survice (although I'm a demanding customer, so kind of test the limits...)

I have no problems or reservations about using any of them.

What the others have said, but I also REALLY like www.housefullofgames.com - a small family business in the Seattle area.

How can you not like stellar customer service and (depending on location) FREE personal delivery?
Note: I once ordered on a Sunday evening and it was delivered the following morning!
Prices are good, too - and their normal shipping prices are competitive, if you're not lucky enough to be in the "zone"..

For east coast, I'd go with Bunker Hill Games: http://www.bunkerhillgames.com

Otherwise, I've dealt with Boardsandbits.com and Thoughthammer.com and never had problems.

I'll chime in with my favorites. I've had good experiences with both Fairplay Games (www.fairplaygames.com) in Michigan, and Thought Hammer (www.thoughthammer.com) in Austin, TX. Shipping from Thought Hammer is about 1 day quicker than Fairplay to my location in Tallahassee, FL.
