Hi. Should I be embarassed to admit that I never heard of Qatar before? How's the gaming there?

P.S. Male. FYI: We are most mostly adults here.

No, but you are reinforcing the clichés regarding US-style geography lessons

Now, that would be interesting to read about. How many of the "Hot Games" (as displayed on the left) are you likely to find in Qatar ?

I know that Qatar is not located in Indiana and that Qatar is not inappropriatiely placed in the Florida Everglades.

Thank you Ticket To Ride! (Long running commentary on TtR geography problems for those not yet aware.....still does not stop me from playing it!)

Welcome Anood!

Anybody else hear this differently at first read?

Boy, talk about flashbacks. Before noticing this was a face-value type of question from another country, the first thing that popped into my head was memories of moving my long-haired self to a tiny farming town in Central Illinois in high school... surprise

Oh yeah - boy, not that it matters (and those turkeys back in Monticello will back me up, too..)

Welcome aboard!

Wow, Qatar! Home of Aljazeera.net where half my middle-east news comes from. Someday I'd love to visit there. Several of my close friends whom have done work in Iraq and Kurdistan and were attending the Dubai Trade Show in The UAE were lucky enough to go there several times. They invited me along this last time but I already had non-refunadable tickets to Thailand. Next time!

Anyway, let us know more about the board game scene there. And if there's any locally designed ones, make sure to submit them here so we can check them out.

jeff

ps: old boy

PS: I've included an additional personal comment below that's more political in nature. I've used the spoiler feature for those who would rather not read such things.

Spoiler (click to reveal)

But it's not just American. Most people I've met around the world know jack about world geography, especially when it comes to African, Middle-Eastern, Slavic, and Island geography, unless of course they live in those areas.

Yet, as a world super power, every American citizen *should* know world geography. Since every citizen has a vote and has the ability to lobby, they should be aware of the world, especially those parts federal troops and politicians are sent to. But that's just my opinion.
