Hello there

Welcome to the geek

The best way to see what everyones games are is to check profiles and the collectioion bit of it (although according to mine I only own 2 games, this is rather misleading as I own dozens, I just have neevr gotten around to posting them all)

Hello Trevor,
Welcome to the geek! You'll find lots of friendly people here, but you'll probably get a better response if you tell us about the games you like. We can recommend stuff you might try, show you things on the geek to look at. Tell what games you own and which you like playing, and you'll get a good conversation going. We love games too!

Cheers,
Jon.

I have a game called "China" which I played for the first time yesterday. It was great. Easy rules, and not many of them. There are good choices you have to think about every time it's your turn. I like that.

Good afternoon Trevor. I'm Philip. Welcome to Boardgamesgeek. This website is full of information about boardgames and it can be a bit daunting at first. Here are the links for my top 10 games.

Bridge http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2181 a great partnership card game which needs at least 8 for the best version.

Junta http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/242 A political intrigue game set in a banana republic. Fight your fellow players and try to stash as much foreign aid money as possible in your Swiss Bank Account.

Euphrat & Tigris http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/42

A classic eurogame by the great game designer Reiner Knizia. (If you don't know what a eurogame is, search the forums, there are quite a few threads on the topic.

Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3201

Another game by Reiner Knizia, this one is a quick and tense 2 player game.

Amun Re: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/5404

A third game by Reiner Knizia, this one is also a classic eurogame, and is set in Ancient Egypt.

Java: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/855 This is another eurogame, and its part of a trilogy of board games by Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling, all of which use Action Points and tile placement.

Diplomacy: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/483 This is a classic game of negotiation and strategy, which can last for hours.

Shogun (Also known as Samurai Swords) http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/221 This is a 'wargame' in that it involves combat for territory and plenty of dice-rolling.

Mare Nostrum: Mythology Expansion http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/17099

An expansion to a base game, this is a neat combination of war, politics and trade.

Puerto Rico: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3076

This, another great eurogame, is the top ranked game on Board Game Geek, at the moment.

Have fun!
