Hello K2 Fans!

Sorry we have been a bit absent from the K2 Threads for a while.

Our plate has been full from the release of our new game Police Precinct.

Sorry about that.

We hope to be more present here (both on K2 and Broad Peak’s BGG pages) moving forward.

For those of you who are not familiar with us (Common Man Games), we are the ones who brought K2 to North America. This happened in the summer of 2011.

For a while now, we have been hoping to release some interesting news about K2 in terms of pricing.

Well…

Our dreams are coming true, as this desire is being fulfilled today.

This will amount to your dreams coming true also, if you have been waiting for things to get a bit more affordable in regard to this game.

It is our pleasure, and honor, to announce a new MSRP for the North American version of K2, which is...

Not...

$79.99

(which is what it was until a couple minutes ago)

Not...

$69.99

(which would be a nice step in the right direction)

Not...

$59.99

(which would be very nice!!!!)

Nope!

None of those, instead...

Try this on for size...

$49.99

thumbsupthumbsupthumbsup

The supply of K2 in North America dried up a while ago.

That is also about to change.

A shipment is coming from Warsaw very soon. I believe it is going to depart tomorrow!

This will mean that affordable copies of Adam's great game will soon be readily available here in the US to all who want one.

(let me clarify that last statement… The supply is generous, but not limitless, so don’t wait too long if you want one).

This also applies to the expansion Broad Peak.

The new MSRP for Broad Peak shall be...

$29.99

This is a significant drop from where it has been.

The first time we brought the game here several things were working against us in terms of costs, etc., but…

This time around, the picture looks much better.

Through a combination of careful planning, patience, and good ol’-fashioned-luck, we have been able to shift almost all of those factors that were working against us. This has been done in such a way that we can now offer the game at a much lower price.

wow

ETA

The good news is...

They're already on there way!!!

But when will they get here?

As in...

When will all this new lower priced product arrive here in the USA?

Answer is...

May 16th

Let me clarify...

That is the estimate (best Guess) at this point.

Also keep in mind that this date (5/16/2013) is when the games are expected to arrive in the Atlanta metropolitan area (our distribution center).

Factor in customs, etc.

Then they need to travel around the USA to the smaller DCs and ultimately to the dealers.

Finally, your game store needs to actually place it on their shelves.

The hope is that...

It's in your hot little hands before Memorial Day!

Stay Tuned for updates coming soon...

Thanks,

Karl

Will you be accepting pre-orders? If so, when and where?
Thanks!

I own the base game and the promo, but want to get Broad Peak as soon as its available.

That's a very good idea!

I don't think we will actually take orders (literally) on this for various reasons, BUT...

I think your idea is perfect!

I will look into possible solutions and update you soon (in this thread).

Pre-orders for the base game are available right now through the BGG market place. And, the Broad Peak expansion is already available.

As far as I know they are, but they are in constant development. No public info yet available, but my finger crossed for their quick appearance

This is great news....a good, thematic game and now priced appropriately. I hope this also means I'll see K2 at game stores.

For those who are wondering "when" these games will be available...

We just added an "ETA" section.

Hi Dustin!

No changes.

Rebel is setting us up with the American / Common Man Games version again.

should be exactly the same in every way.

thanks for the quick reply. will be ordering soon.

about the promo in BGG, will that be reprinted if they run out? I like to play a game first before buying expansions and promos. but at the same time I keep waiting to buy promos, they become rare and super expensive by then.

Dustin,

Good question!

Answer...

Hard to say for sure.

(I could see that going either way)

PS - I assume you're talking about the Mad Men Cards. Am I right?

Ah yes...

Rebel will be handling that part of it, so I'm not sure how that will be handled in the event of a sell-out.

What about the rest of the world?

Or even just Canada?

I might be interested in picking up a copy of this but have never seen this in any of the stores I visit...

Or

Meeplemart (steve@meeplemart.com)

Thank you very much!

Let me see what I can do.

A conversation has begun.

Cross your fingers!

Here is the email I just sent to both of the stores...

-----------------------------------------------------

Hi,

Your store has been specifically named as a store where BGG users want to buy K2.

Please follow this link...

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/960571/good-news-for-usa

(the mention of your store is currently at the bottom of the thread)

The post at the top of the thread basically explains everything.

When the K2 arrives from Europe, you can have some for your store if you want.

You can get it from GTS.

Do you already have an account with them?

Thanks,

Karl
