That's how we will duel.

On a semi-related note: It turns out that it is now legal to own not only chickens but two goats and a beehive within the city limits here. What I really want is a goat with a beehive all honey- and wax-glued into its pelt; but apparently if you get one goat you must also have another as they are diabolically social and go insane when left alone.* If I'm going to have a goat with a beehive built into it I'm certainly not going to have another "plain Jane" beehiveless goat—so I suppose I'll just have to have two beehived goats. Perhaps then the disparate swarms can have aerial battles for my amusement.

*Can't the beehive be Goaty's friend?

I've always thought that bee-keeping would be a good activity once I retire. It shouldn't cost much more than what my wife can consume in honey in a month.

I know we are allowed chickens, but I'm not sure about goats. Wonder if we can have a goat. They considered pets?

Is the idea behind owning a goat to harvest milk? Because otherwise they seem like a lot of expense and work for something that does little more than eat, chew on things and poop everywhere. (But then I own CATS, and that's basically what they do.)

What about a two-headed goat? The beehive could nestle right in the 'split'.

I would like a goathive, which is a giant geodesic sphere hanging from a tree where if you throw a rock at it a swarm of angry goats flop out and try to butt you. If that doesn't keep the neighbor kids out, screw it, it's time to move.

Some people like them because they're like automatic lawn mowers.

In fact, there's a lady in Indianapolis who has been going around some of the more run-down neighborhoods with her goat to clean up overgrown areas as a public service.

We (wife, two kiddos, and I) just started beekeeping last year with one Langstroth hive in our backyard - in city limits. Just this week we finished building four top bar hives (they can be built very inexpensively) to expand. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful hobby!!!

Goats seem to get on quite well with medium-size dogs. One or two collies or spaniels (or whatever) should keep the goat happy. I used to know people who kept a goat with the dogs they boarded, and it was totally happy being the alpha animal (it was a big billy).
Otherwise, yes, lonely goats go completely nuts. There was a goat kept alone in the backyard of a property near where I work, and it spent its time bashing against the fences and bleating. It was very distressed. After a couple of weeks it was taken away.
