Is there a particular part about Castles that you like? Using dice to select actions? The tile-laying part? Figuring out the optimal moves to get the most points?

Try some other Feld games, like Trajan or Macao.

Try some other dice management games, like Kingsburg or Yspahan.

It is a bit hard to teach to new players, but it is good. Hardcore gamers will have no trouble learning it.

There are somewhat similar mechanisms in Glen More; faster and lighter, for the better or the worse, depending on your preferences.

Funny, I just finished playing Glen More for the first time with my husband and it reminded us both of Castles of Burgundy (which we have also only played once, mind you), but the theme of Glen More made more sense to us.

They are similar in that there are many different factors that come into play and you often feel kind of clueless about what the right thing is to do bc you have so many options. I'm sure this changes once you've played the game lots of times though!

The Love Castle of Burgundy was nicknamed the "Love Shack" by King Ludwig II, and is the inspiration for the B-52s hit of the same name.

Take a look at Bora Bora. It's from the same designer and also features using dice to take actions.

Depends on what aspect you like:

If you like rolling dice and then figuring out what to do with the roll:
Kingsburg

If you like adjusting your die rolls to get just want you want:
Stone Age --- the 'tools' aspect of that game

If you like building your own little estate:
Alhambra
Agricola

If you like being able to build on just certain colored hexes:
Terra Mystica - a game I've never played, but looks interesting

If you like getting a bonus for being the first to complete a portion of the game:
Thurn and Taxis

Have fun!

I'm a big fan of Castles of Burgundy aswell and have wondered the same thing.

Looking at the Feld games for my preference at the moment Macao seems to be the one that has the elements I think I most like from Castles while giving a different mix.

If you want to get a better feel for the Feld games check out the video's from

he does some great game walk throughs and has done a number of the Feld games to date.

If you like the building up your area, the other one I may suggest that doesn't have dice at all but lots of fun is Suburbia
