I didn't think I'd be too into it, but Friday is my favorite 1p game right now. The duration of the game is perfect for me; 20-30 minutes.

I love Mage Knight, but it takes a long time to play and thus I often don't have the "will" to break it out. I like K2 quite a bit solo as well.

If you like the D&D board games, then Gears of War: The Board Game is right up your alley, +1.

Sentinels of the Multiverse. A little confusing with 3 or 4 characters, but once I started using a notepad to track hero and villain HP, and play with either 3 heroes and the 'sidekick deck' or 4 actual heroes, it's quite fun. I have won each of the 4 hero games, but they have been close.

I play lots of Solitaire games (It's more or less a requirement before I'll buy a game).

Top 5 go to:
Thunderbolt Apache Leader
Mage Knight Board Game with Mage Knight Board Game: The Lost Legion Expansion
Friday
Gears of War: The Board Game
Labyrinth: The War on Terror, 2001 – ? (this one is hit or miss with people).

I also quite like At the Gates of Loyang for good solitaire Euro gaming.

You'll probably really like Gears of War and Mage Knight, as they're similar to the DnD Adventure System. Mice and Mystics is another dungeon crawler that you might enjoy.

Thunderbolt Apache Leader

Dawn of the Zeds (First edition) (for relatively shorter play)

Have yet to play Field Commander: Napoleon, but I own it and reading the rules it looks awesome!

Also am jonesing for the D-Day at Omaha Beach reprint

Am curious about Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island

And now I need to look at Ghost Stories because I trust thedacker

There's also a great iPad app for tracking HP...

I love Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin as a solo game, as it is really challenging!

Agricola also has good solo rules, but gives more of a puzzle feel than the game actually fighting back.

+1 Space Hulk: Death Angel – The Card Game. It's small (so it's portable), looks good, and is hard as nails.

Field Commander: Napoleon plays great. It doesn't really feel like a hex-and-counter wargame at all. Feels a bit more like TAL or HL:CAO, I'd recommend getting it to your table ASAP!

From what I understand, there's a good D-Day at Omaha Beach vassal module that you can play with to tide you over until the actual game gets reprinted (in this June, I hope).

Thunderbolt Apache Leader, like the rest of the leader series, is quadruple distilled, triple filtered awesome, and until Huey comes out it's got some of the sexiest hardware known to man.

Or go for Hornet Leader: Carrier Air Operations; while it's lacking in CAS greatness, it has Intruders, never a bad thing.

Right now I'm into Friday and Onirim. Simple card games that play out really quickly and offer a good challenge.

Space Hulk : Death Angel is another good one, but it is way harder, and the setup is fiddly compared to the other two.
