We played this enjoyable game for the first time last Friday, and two quirks stuck with me.

1. The only way to attack the other players is to invite them to a party and offer them free mead. This gives them (but not you) a hangover and loses them a movement point.

2. In the woods you risk encountering venomous snakes, wolves and bears -- and the annoying man who lends the game his name. Candamir thinks everybody he runs into in the woods is happy to help him work in the logging trade. And he won't take no for an answer. So you can get bitten, mauled and eaten -- or given a job, which is pretty much equally bad. Candamir often stalks you through the forest with his job offer, showing up behind different bushes every time you draw a movement card.
