This variant expands the range of of air support. As it stands, only the USSR have air points, usable up to 6 hexes from an airfield. Unfortunately, except for the Vladivostok area and the eastern border, most airfields are so far from China that they are useless. Worse, the Chinese have no air points at all.

1) All Provincial and National capitals for all nations contain an airfield (Exception: Mongolia: Ulaan Baatar is served by the airfield shown to the south of the capital).

2) The PRC has 1d6 air points available on each turn of each scenario. These points can be used anywhere within 6 hexes of an airfield, but are halved if used more than 3 hexes from an airfield.

3) The USSR / Non-PRC player always allocates air points to a battle first.
If they allocate any air points, the PRC player may not use air points in the same battle. PRC points can only be used if the other side does not use air support in that battle.

4) Airfields can be captured by the enemy. This includes capitals as in 1) above. Captured airfields can be used to field air points the same way as Friendly airfields.

5) To use a captured airfield, all three of the following must apply:
a) The airfield must be located within 9 hexes of an existing friendly airfield.
b) The airfield must be in supply - trace as if it were a friendly unit.
c) The airfield must have started the turn under friendly control, that is, it must have been captured in a previous turn.

Still have not pulled this one off the shelf, but that does sound weird for the air rules. I like yours and probably will incorporate them when I do play....whenever that might bewhistlewhistlewhistle
