I know this is a long shot, but I need some help. I recently completed a trade for this expansion deck and it appears that two of the cards are missing. The deck only contains 28 of the 30 cards. The problem is, I don't know which cards are the missing cards. If anyone could possibly list the titles of the cards I would be extremely appreciative, and would be happy to tip some GG for the trouble. Time is somewhat important. Thanks in advance if anyone can do this.

I think I got it figured out.

The difference is the X1 and X2. There are 30 of both.

Not sure which is from which set though, but you should be able to figure it out fairly quickly.

I hope this was at least a little helpful. laugh

I believe that X1 is Allies (the first Emissaries & Inquisitors deck) and X2 is Blessings (the second release).

Don't the two Emissary cards in each deck list (between them) all of the other cards in the deck?

The Allies Cards have the X1 designation in the lower left. There should be 30 of them. I really appreciate your help so far. I'm going to check and see if you've listed the two I'm missing.

No they don't.

It kind of sucks that way.

Listing any other cards than the ones they do would make no sense.

In short, take the 60 cards in E&I. Put aside 4 each of Emissaries and Inquisitors, leaving 52 cards. Each people (8) gets 3 cards (two filling in numbering gaps, one being number 32) for 24 cards. That leaves 28 cards. Those 28 are now divided among the 4 emissaries, 7 each. Those 7 are listed, as that's the function of the emissaries, to divide up those 28 cards. No reason to list the others, and a positive reason not to.

Which two, as a matter of interest.

(Incidentally one of the E&I decks also came with two Earth Spirits, for reasons that I won't get into.)

I'm missing:

- Character - Guardian of Time - Mimix 01 - X1
- Leadership - Chosen of Nature - Mimix 32 - X1

Am I correct in understanding that without those cards I really can't play this deck? Or is it that I couldn't play with the Mimix deck? I haven't had a chance to play with the Emissaries yet, so I'm not exactly sure how they work.

You would only use those cards if you use the deck building rules (though they are both great cards).

If you normally play with the peoples decks as published each player can pick one of the Emissaries and add each of the cards listed on the Emissary to their deck.

Without those cards you can't play the Mimix deck on a level playing field with the other decks.

Emissaries and Inquisitors (E&I) is about stretching the game further. The way I would look at it is that the Inquisitors allow you to take the Advanced Rules (deck construction) to another level. To do so it added three more cards to each people and, as I previously mentioned, 28 cards not belonging to any people. And you can play other-than-30 card decks with other-than-10 added moons.

But one of the strengths of Blue Moon is the "play out of the box" nature with the preconstructed decks. And it was considered highly desirable that the E&I decks could be used in a fast way without decks construction. An that's what the emissaries offer. (Emissaries and Inquisitors are an either/or thing.)

So in this case you:

- Take a preconstructed deck of 30 cards. (Note this is with its three "guest" cards from other peoples and three cards off in other decks.)

- Add the three cards from E&I that belong to that deck.

- Pick an Emissary. Take the 7 cards it lists (from the 28 new non-people cards).

That gives you a 30+3+7 = 40 card deck. Shuffle and play.

The new cards introduce some new rules (I must, Hyla, crystal cards, interference cards, REPLACE, Chosen Ones) so you also need to read those.

This now means that a player can have one of 8x4 = 32 emissary decks, his opponent can have 7x3 = 21 emissary decks (given what the first player picked) and you have 1/2 x 32 x 21 = 336 matchups (ignoring which way round) compared to a basic game 1/2 x 8 x 7 = 28 (ignoring Buka).

I doubt anyone has played them all.

Incidentally the missing Chosen One wouldn't be a major handicap, you could let the Mimix player pick an unused Chosen One (I would need to check details to make a suggestion there). And with Inquisitors that's not an issue (as the Chosen Ones have zero moons, they aren't actually tied to a deck in practice). But the missing Guardian does definitely weaken the Mimix.

You are not missing two cards. What you have is 28 of the 60 cards from the etwo E&I decks, half from each - the X1 and X2 are the deck indicators.

But you are not missing a random 32 cards. The 60 cards can be divided into:

24 cards from the original 8 peoples - you have those
4 inquisitors - you have those
4 emissaries - you do not have those
28 cards named on the emissaries and not from the original 8 peoples - you do not have those.

If I had to guess, someone took the two E&I decks, resorted them in a way that makes a bit of sense, especially if you play emissaries, and put half (28/32 split - the boxes will hold 32 cards) in each box. Then for some reason or other, quite possibly by accident forgetting he'd done that, sold one of the two boxes.

What you should do is get back to the seller I think.

(The missing 28 cards other than the emissaries are 8 Tutu, 8 Hyla, 7 interference, 3 crystals, 2 mutants.)
