This will be a 5-player game for anyone who wants to play. Post in the thread if you are interested in playing (and also geekmail me your email address so that I can set up the moderator).

Please post below if you are interested in playing. Players are expected to make moves at least once per day, and inform the other players in advance when this will not be possible (i.e. limited internet access due to travel).

We will be using the moderator software created by:

Players will enter their own moves into the tracker, and we will use email features of the site for most communication (chatter in the thread is of course, welcome).

I'd prefer to use the rules that spade scoring is not allowed in rounds 5 or 6, and that terraforming must be by the shortest path to your home terrain.

The game is at
http://terra.snellman.net/game/37

(Note however this link isn't very useful until I finish setting up the game.)

Entering moves is not so difficult. The usage instructions for the moderator are at http://terra.snellman.net/usage.html. I'm also happy to help with entering the moves at the start of the game while we get going.

I will try, and I would expect I can learn.

But I know zero programming and when I looked over the instructions I did not not even get where to enter command lines.

You will have a link to the game page and when it's your turn you are provided with a box to enter your move which looks generally like the box I am using to enter this text.

You don't need to be a programmer to enter a line like:

upgrade E4 to TP

Thanks Dave.

So it is different than than the usual page I see where no such box exists?

It does normally say "not logged in" at the top. Perhaps if one were, the command box would appear?

And actually, I do write code for statistical software such as SPSS, LISREL, HML, and the like. So I am not totally naive. But I read through the earlier games asking players to enter moves and it seemed like a recipe for errant entries.

Full after you join.

We have five:
Bill (Asdnart)
Neil (chris1nd)
E S (adjunction)
Edward (Edfactor)
Tim (notus2)

I'll add players to the moderator shortly. Neil and Tim, can you send me your email addresses (via geekmail)?

I've set up the game. The (random) player order is:

Neil
Bill
Tim
E S
Edward

BON3 (+6 coins) is out.

Scoring tiles are:

1: D >> 2
2: TOWN >> 5
3: SA/SH >> 5
4: TP >> 3
5: D >> 2
6: SA/SH >> 5

Neil is up to pick a faction.

To be clear: faction selection (and possibly initial bonus tiles, and initial dwelling placements) is done by posting to this thread -- the moderator doesn't give individuals links to add moves until the factions are set-up.)

(If people would rather that I entered the moves into the tracker, I can, but then the game state will tend to be somewhat out of date. I can always edit things after the fact if something goes wrong.)

So I thought "I'll be Mermaids!", and then I thought "I'll be Engineers!" Funny how that worked out

I'll take Chaos Magicians.

And we are on to the initial dwelling placements. The order is:

Halflings
Swarmlings
Dwarves
Chaos Magicians
Witches x2
Chaos Magicians
Dwarves
Swarmlings
Halflings

By the time you read this you should have received (by geekmail) a link to the faction-specific link you can enter moves with. You can enter initial dwellings with commands like "Build A5". Multiple commands can be given on the same line if you need to build two dwellings, and you should only have the option to enter moves if the moderator thinks that you are up next.

Chaos Mages only have 1 dwelling to place, and they place it last.

Right, thanks for the correction.

Tim is up for the Dwarves, but you should have already have received email to that effect.

I am up.

I go to: http://terra.snellman.net/game/37/halflings

It opens the command window.

If I then enter "Build I8" it then says I can "preview" and it will be Chaos Magicians turn.

When I "save" it returns:
"Invalid faction key"

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

That's very far from the right link. Are you sure that's what Bill sent you? It should look something like:

.../faction/37/halflings/1234abcdef1234567890123412341234

(With different gibberish at the end).
