There is no option for me to upload a PDF.

I have tried everything, can someone please walk me through it?

Thanks,

1) Look for the "Files" section in the game entry
2) Click "Upload File"
3) Reach this form (this link goes to the X-Wing one)
4) Click "Browse..." and choose your PDF
5) Fill the other fields and checkboxes
6) Click "Submit"
7) ...
8) Profit!

There's a considerable delay (about a week or so in my experience) until your file is approved by the mods, but I hope it's worth it

There is no files sections?

I see insert geek link, no good! Also, everything else is Images, or youtube stuff.

I cannot believe I can't do this maybe my account is messed up or something.

I'm trying to do it in the Xwing/Variant section?

You don't do it from the forum section - you do it from the Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game Record. Put Variant in the file title. People can leave comments under the file and you can chat to them there.

If you really wish you could create a link to a thread in the variants folder and back but that's not really necessary nor can I see any real advantage.

You can't "upload a PDF" (or any other file) directly in a forum post. What you can do, assuming the file is of general interest, is to submit it to the files section of the main game entry (see haslo's steps for doing this above). And then once you've done that, and it's been accepted (which can take up to a week or two, as all files are manually checked against copyright infringement and viruses and such), you can link to it from a forum post (using the "File Page" entry under "Insert Geek Link").

FWIW if it's simply an image, which doesn't actually need to be a PDF file, but could instead be simply a PNG or JPG image file, then you could directly upload it to your personal gallery (no modding/approval wait required) to display it in a forum post.

Since we're talking pdf uploads, I've made four attempts over the last 24 hours to upload a rules pdf for Disc Duelers. Each time it uploads 100%, there's a pause and then I get an error: invalid action message. Any ideas about what's going wrong?

A file size of 5mb or greater may suffer problems when uploading.

How big's your file.

That would be the problem. It's the official rule set from the publisher (I do have their permission) with lots of artwork. Weighs in at 9.15mb. I guess there are no work rounds for this?

Not as a single file.

You could, again with the rights holder's permission, break it into 2 separate parts - Pages 1-11 then 12-22. And upload them as separate files.

Alternatively you could add it as a link to their file or, again with permission, upload it on a third party stable file store and add that link to BGG.
