As dawn broke on an early Saturday morning, both the Americans & Germans sent up a pair of fighters for the ‘Dawn Patrol’. Within in minutes, both pairs spotted each other and made head-on attacks. Unfortunately for one American, it was his last ‘Dawn Patrol’. Now only one is left to take on the two Huns!

As each pilot maneuvered their crates to get that kill shot, more and more aircraft began to fill the skies. Soon the ‘Red Baron’ and his brother would join the fight along with other countries from Great Britain & Belgium.

Even a pair of two-seaters wondered into the fur-ball causing damage to those around them.

However, their journey into the fight would cost the lives of their back-seaters.

One of the British Camels takes a few hits causing smoke, but he is able to put it out in time.

The Belgium ace Maj Willy Coppens’ manages to set Lother’s Fokker on fire which would eventually be Lother’s downfall in a matter of time.

By the end of the day, three aircraft were shot down: an American SPAD XIII, a Fokker Dr.1 and a Sopwith Camel. Since three different pilots were the only ones with kills to their credit, the decision fell to the one with the least amount of damage. In other words, he was better skilled at maneuvering his crate than the others!

A total of 10 aircraft filled the skies...

For the Entente Powers: two American SPAD XIII, one American Breguet 14B2 (a Reviresco custom built for a buddy who was assigned to the 96th Bomb Squadron & his pilot he flew with in Desert Storm), one British Sopwith Camel and one Belgium Hanroit HD-1 (a Reviresco custom built for Major Willy Coppens)

For the Central Powers: two Albatros D.Va, two Fokker Dr.1s, and a Rumpler C.IV C.
