I have made another game, and so some test players are needed (as all ways).

MINILAND ADVENTURES

A solo RPG.

This game revolves around maps, in which if you move of one map, you move onto another map. There are also maps for the castles. You must defeat each boss monster from each castle to win the game.
After making your hero, you will charge forward, slaying monsters such as orcs and spiders.

There many pages to be printed out and cut. About 20.

Any one can help me out. If you help out, please just post here.

A Make sense
B Have no typos

Thanks for your interest in my stuff.

Cool! I love the artwork! I only need to reduce the opacity of the maps & maybe add some textures..

They are nice as well

If more than 1 monster spawn, on which spaces do you put them?

Ah yes. I should have clarified that. They both spawn at random co-ords.

How exactly does a player test his strength or agility? The rules mention it, but they don't tell you how to do it.

Also, in the rules, you may want to point out specifically that headlines in the castle sections of the rules are actions that you can take. As well, you may want to point out any restrictions to those rules as well.

As it stands, it looks like you can just stand in the entrance of the mountain castle and search for treasure over and over again. Not sure if this is what you intended.

And the escort quest does not specifically say that you start off in the castle with the girl. It is implied, but it does not say it.

I am sorry I missed that. I will update it, but it is just like a FF gamebook. Roll 1d6. If the roll is equal to or lower than the stat being tested, you succeed. Otherwise, you fail.

I will do that.

I had thought I already specified. If you search for treasure, you do not need a map unless you end up fighting. Like always, spawn the monsters at random co-ords.
But I will clear that up.

I will fix that as well.

Thank you for the constructive feed back!

OK, I have had a more solid chance to play the game. I have even made a Vassal module for it.

Unfortunately, there are at least two severe issues with the game that need to be fixed before the game is playable.

The first is the rule: "If you attack, you may not move the next turn." Unfortunatly, this rule flat out breaks the game. When sitting on a map (particularily on the mountain map) and attack a monster, the process of you doing so will most likely put more monsters out on the board. This can create an endless loop that will spam out so many monsters that you cannot move. Thus forcing you to attack. But if you cannot move next turn, then some other monster steps into the place of the current monster if you beat the monster. Meaning you will be stuck not moving until you die because of a bad dice roll.

I would recommend not only eliminating this rule, but also replacing the rule with "Once you defeat a monster, you may move into the space that the monster was located."

Second issue is the rate of healing. It simply is to expensive to heal in the game. Having a high HP is relatively useless because once you start losing HP, it is too hard to get it back.

I was prepared to review the game, but I want to hold off because I think that you can fix/ballance these issues and make the game more fun than it currently is.

Wow! Thanks for the feed back!

I will change the rules you mentioned, as I agree it does make the game unfair.

Also, could you add a link to the vassal module for the game on the games page?

EDIT: Here are the updated files with some rule changes.
