What is the point of the always hungry ability. It doesnt seem to trigger bloodlust (at least not according to the printed text on the card which states you must tackle and injure another player) im just having a hard time seeing the vampire team synergy

It's ment to take out your downed thralls mostly.

Vampires are all about setups.

There are also various other cards that will potentially injure a downed player on a hit or if you give them the blocking skill they can make two attempts etc...

Basicly with Vamps you need to combo with them. Many of their team upgrades help with that. And some of the staff upgrades help as well.

Always hungry DOES trigger bloodlust. Bloodlust just says "another player", not an opposing player.

Typical usage is as follows:

Vampire team:
- 1 downed thrall

Other team
- 1 standing guy with 3 star power

Vampires to play

Vampire player plays a vampire, tackles his downed thrall. 2 dice block likely results in an injury on the thrall. Vampire gains a blood counter. Net gain is +1 Star Power, but more importantly, the Vampire (who will likely now scoop up the ball) is now a 4 Star Power player, making him harder to tackle back.

If you have Force of Will out, this gets even better, of course.

Strategically, the Vampire set is all about the Vampires making the winning plays. They're great in tournaments, as theres almost always someone lying on the ground for them to eat. They're excellent all rounders, as they have block, pass and regenerate. All in all, amongst the best non-starplayers in the game.

Of course, the rest of their team is chaff, but thats the price you pay for having four vampires in your 12 card deck.
