Between my buddy and I we have enough ships to have 300 points on each side.

We were thinking about doing this on Star Wars Day.

Has anyone done this before? Is it fun or just tedious?

How long does it typically take?

How big of a play space is recommended for such a big game?

I think 150 points was the biggest squad size we've done, and that took several hours to complete (2.5ish). Just due to the number of ships you need to move each turn I would expect to spend the better part of the afternoon if you play to total destruction of one side. Sounds fun tho,

Similar experience here. I generally prefer several shorter matches to one big match, especially if the conclusion seems inevitable after a critical turn. But if you want to try it out, I couldn't imagine a better time.

May the Fourth be with you!

not exactly 300pts (i used custom teams for my death star run, so it was more like 250vs400), i believe the play area was about 4x5, but we had staggered deployment (1 team of 100-ish enters turn by turn.)

1 round takes about 45min to complete, the whole movement actions shooting. Crits are nearly impossible to keep track of.

very fun and impressive initially, but if your scenario isnt interesting enuff, it can get into the "i just want to end this and go home" zone after you hit the 3rd hour

I've done a couple 300 point games. Get's a bit tedious with the movement, but I enjoyed them. Also allows you to field a big ship or two with a strong escort force.

Ive played a couple games that size and bigger. It takes time; don't expect to be done in an hour. Also, it is way more fun with more people; if you can get 2 or more additional buddies involved it becomes truly epic.

Good luck!

In our league last night we played a five player 200 point game. We were no close to finishing the game when we had to call it since the store was closing. I think we played for nearly two hours at that point.
