Just curious if anyone has had any success playing with 5 heroes. We started a campaign last night with 4 heroes, then afterward found out that there's one more that would like to play.

Had some ideas, but thought I'd ask for suggestions (sorry if this has already been posted)

* Overlord always has an additional open group of monsters, but at the 2 hero level and/or with -1 monster of that group.

* Some kind of attack/defense balancing mechanic, penalizing the heroes slightly?

* Would simply having the Overlord go first help?

Ideas? PLEASE HELP!!!

We played with six but in our game, we had the Overlord job split. Each player divided up and played the monster groups. It was beneficial because it gave the Overlord someone to discuss ideas with instead of the game being 4 minds against 1.

The Search mechanics should be tweaked too.

Well by adding an extra player not officially supported by the game mechanics you're already in 'house rules' territory...

So perhaps give the Overlord a special 'house ability' where they can modify X points on dice rolls Y times per scenario? Something like that would be straightforward to introduce; and ya'll use some combination of common sense, transparency, and honor to make sure it isn't abused, as you work out exactly what X and Y should be set at.
