Greetings, fellow BGG'ers!

I have come here seeking council on a pressing matter. Our kingdom is in peril... Oh wait, that's not it.

Dropping the pretentious manner and getting down to the issue, I'm looking for a light Euro game that supports up to 5 (and hopefully 6) players. Also, ideally, it would play about 60 minutes with 5 people.

7 Wonders seemed to fit that bill perfectly... I bought it, we played it, and... nothing. We did not like it at all So I'm back at square one, looking for a perfect Euro-filler for a larger group.

I need your...

Not including 1 to 2 learning games our play group can get the following played in between 60 and 75 minutes

Lords of Waterdeep although set up and strip down can add a few minutes
Snowdonia
Noblemen
Last Will

For shorter fillers we like

Balloon Cup plays 6 and a great push your luck game to end a session
Libertalia
Guildhall

Hope that helps

*light euro *up to 5 *60mins with 5

- Urbania
- Saboteur & Saboteur 2 (expansion-only editions)
- Power Grid: Factory Manager
- Alea Iacta Est
- To Court the King

- Witch's Brew (can be expanded to 6 with expansion)
I highly recommend this.

- Last Will
Can be slightly longer, like 75mins. If you push it, it can be done in 60mins or even ends earlier if someone goes bankrupt first before the 7th round. He/she will be the winner

- Glen More
Can be slightly longer as well. If you push it, probably will take 60-75mins.

- Unexpected Treasures
Up to 6 players, easily done in 30mins

- The Speicherstadt
I played the game 3 times with 5 players. They're all done in 60mins. Note that the other 4 players were new to the game.

- Peloponnes
Civ lite with cool disaster effect. 75mins for 5 players, but I feel this can be reduced

- Lords of Scotland
Card game that last 45-60mins.

-Felicity: The Cat in the Sack
A good semi blind bidding game. Last around 30 to 45mins.

-Carson City
Can be slightly longer with 5 players, around 90mins.

p/s Games suggested are from my experience playing it with 5, not because the box says 60mins

+1 Peloponnes, a civ-themed auction-based resource management game.

Bombay can do 5 in 60 minutes. Pickup-and-deliver.

Roll to the South Pole does 5 in 45 minutes, but as a push-your-luck race is perhaps lighter than you want here.

Android: Infiltration can do 6 in an hour-ish, but feels closer to a long filler to me.

I'm not sure about the length of Homesteaders, but it is a fast-moving auction/resource conversion game that handles 5 well. Probably closer to 90 minutes.

Lords of Waterdeep seems to run closer to 2 hours with 5p around here, but if your crowd plays briskly it could work.

For 5 players:

+1 for Lords of Waterdeep (and the upcoming expansion gets it up to 6)

I'll also add

El Grande

For 5 or 6 players:

Much of my collection centres around 60 minute or less 5 to 6 player games. Although I'm not a big fan of Dominion many of the other games in your collection are in agreement with mine ... so perhaps you could get some ideas by looking at the games I rank in the 7 and up range and reading my comments ...http://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/jasss333?own=1&subt...
... good luck.

My top picks (not sure if all these are considered Euros) would be:

More filler, should play easily under an hour:
Dominion - if you have both base and Intrigue, plays fine with 5
The Adventurers: the Pyramid of Horus
Fairy Tale (although if you don't like 7 Wonders, this may be a flop)
Bohnanza
Ave Caesar

Closer to a full hour, may exceed with 5 players if they don't play quickly:
Lords of Waterdeep
Vegas Showdown
Airlines Europe
Stone Age

There are many good suggestions above. Though if I never play Alhambra with 5 again that will be fine (an excellent game up to 4). Glen More is fine with 5 but maybe runs a little long for the requirement (with 4 definitely under an hour though).

Of the ones I tried, my recs would be Bohnanza, Ra, Modern Art, Through the Desert.

And I just bought Chicago Express with a similar need (though I've only played it via the app so far).

Your criteria is actually too broad.
A numbe of bargain basement z-man games titles fit your bill: The Speicherstadt, Hornet, and Hotel Samoa.
Nuns on the Run, Medici, Hotel Samoa, Article 27: The UN Security Council Game, and Fearsome Floors play six in under an hour

Oops. It probably should handle 5, and there is a PnP variant to do so, but you're right. It's 4 out of the box.

Oh, I didn't know there's a variant for 5 players. I checked it out (5 Player Variant for Homesteaders (with results)) and it seems pretty good. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to OP for the out of topic post.

Throwing this out there. Especially with 6 players have you tried splitting into groups of 3's and playing two different things? Although a number of euros can support up to 5 (and sometimes 6) players it quite often isn't the optimal experience. Higher player counts often leads to longer games and more down time and quite often wider swings in randomness.

Just a thought that might open up a wider range of games to you.

Game recommendation though: It's not a euro but King of Tokyo is pretty fun and goes up to 6 players and worked well with my Euro liking group.

China is the game for you, my friend. The first time you play it, it will maybe be 60 minutes. After that, you'll easily be doing 2 sessions in 60 minutes. And it's the perfect balance between simple rules for beginners, while still delivering strategic depth and interesting decisions for the gamers of the group.

Highly recommended.

So many suggestions on this list only play with a max of 4. Homesteaders and Samurai immediately jump out.

I would try Libertalia or Dice Town. Dice Town only plays with 5, but if you get the extension, it plays with 6.
