I'd made some posts few months back how I'd started a small gaming club in Mumbai and I'm finally playing/teaching games with like minded people due to Meetup.com changed my life

A journalist from a prominent newspaper Business Standard contacted our group to do a small article on board gaming. We immediately agreed & to our surprise it got published and we got quite a place.

This is the first article I know describing board gaming as a hobby , touches on my wife's attitude towards board gaming , difficulty in procuring games , people's attitude towards board gaming etc.

Check it out here

http://www.business-standard.com/article/beyond-business/for...

All in all a proud moment for us

Guys here tend to think of meetup as a hookup site rather than a common interests group
We've had clueless people turning up with ahem intentions who had to be turned away

What, girls? Gay guys? Straight guys thinking there would be girls there?

Sorry, irrelevant questions I know, just curious.

I was wondering if that was a bit of polite euphemism. Congratulations on getting in the paper. I hope you convert lots of new gamers! Who knows, maybe even some of the pickup artists will get hooked.

Nicely done. I wish I'd seen this thread before, I was in Mumbai for work last year for a few weeks. My only gaming experience at the time was shuffling a deck of Love Letter only to be told by the hotel staff that they don't permit games for risk of contravening gambling laws.
