The fronts and backs of about 1/3 of the counters separated from each other when I cut them from the counter sheet: no sign of adhesive.

Seriously? I haven't seen this happen since "Robert the Bruce."

Elmer's glue, spread with a thin knife, should do. Press the counters with a couple of books for two days and that should do it.

A pity it's necessary, though.

The only time this happens to me is when I rush when separating the counters.
It didn't happen too many times until I learned to slow down and take my time with punching counters... especially DG's.
