Poll
For lunch today, would you rather eat...
...a large burrito?
...two great medium-sized rotis?
...three tacos?
...two falafels?
...corned beef sandwich with mustard and sauerkraut?
...Tibetan dumplings?

Poll created by futhee

Trying to decide on lunch. I'm actually a vegetarian, so the sandwich option is out, but I often dream about corned beef with mustard and sauerkraut, with a large garlic dill pickle on the side.

I actually drooled on my pants just now.

1. Yep.

2. So I'm thinking about doing a Taco month. 30 tacos over 30 days. Would anyone be interested? It will either be next month or June.

3. Hey Dennis and Kevin, I might make my way up to Toronto again this summer. If I do, would you guys be up for a possible game night? If not, how about at least a burrito?

I'm still trying to shed the November burritos.

Of course I'm interested.

Taco month? I have eaten as many as 13.5 tacos in one 30-minute sitting.

If you are in Toronto, we can have a game night WITH burritos at Chino Locos, in my opinion the best the city has to offer: http://chinolocos.com/

I'm not sure I can distinguish a (soft-shell) taco from a burrito. As far as I can tell, they're the same thing except one end is open on a taco. That said, I'll do what I can.

Chino Loco sounds good, we could probably snag a table to play a game, otherwise I know a good gaming space within walking distance.

You've got some kick-ass choices there.
It was a tough decision but I would go for the tacos if it were today (and it is).

30 in 30 days should be a walk in the park. I can eat 4 or 5 per sitting. Back in my university days, I usually went for at least 8.
My metabolism isn't as high as it once was, though.

I'm having the second half of the enormous burrito I got for dinner last night: Chicken, Steak, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Beans, Sour Cream, Avocado Slices & Chipotle Peppers

But I voted Tibetan Dumplings. Because: dumplings

We can play in my man cave basement! Ok, it's not really a man cave, although it was supposed to be when we bought the house. Now it's a semi-man cave, or a boy cave, or whatever.

In all the Mexican places around me, a burrito is a large soft tortilla (typically flour) filled with meat, beans, rice, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The tacos are typically meat, lettuce and tomato over 2 soft corn tortillas with some spices and lime juice.

My thought process:

Quote:
...a large burrito?

An excellent choice if 3pm naps are acceptable at your place of business.

Quote:
...two great medium-sized rotis?

Never heard of them before. Some Googling has revealed deliciousness, but I want you to tell me more.

Quote:
...three tacos?

I enjoy tacos, but they make me wish I ordered a burrito.

Quote:
...two falafels?

Just falafels? Just 2 chickpea meatballs? I hope pita and hummus is involved somehow.

Quote:
...corned beef sandwich with mustard and sauerkraut?

Only if the corned beef is super lean. Nothing ruins this sandwich faster for me than giant chunks of fat.

Quote:
...Tibetan dumplings?

Dumplings = good. Tibetan = boring. Good 'n Boring is only warranted when you're rebooting your system after food poisoning.

A roti is just some bread?
I went with falafel since I eat that less frequently than burrito.

Falafels would be in a pita with lots of stuffing.

Momo (the dumplings) are awesome. I find Tibetan food exciting! Roti is delicious. It's not just bread. You would order, say, eggplant roti, so it would be cooked eggplant, probably some potatos, chick peas maybe, onion, wrapped in a bread. Nice and hot, and hopefully spicy.

So anyway, I made my decision, and went with NO LUNCH. I couldn't decide, so I'm eating air.

There's a joint three blocks from my house that serves what has been canonized as one of the best corned beef reubens in the Midwest United States, McBob's.

But I chose burrito. Heck, even an Irish joint like McBob's serves acclaimed tacos.

Much easier than 30 burritos.

Have a nearby market that makes 12 street tacos for just $10. And a restaurant just a short walk away that rolls out a grill cart on the weekends and serves them up fresh. 30 could be not just powered down, but actually enjoyed, in a matter of days!

I'm willing to bet I could eat 30 tacos in one day, if I could afford to drop that much coin on food knowing it will just come out the other end soon.
