Merchants & Marauders Hit Location Overlay

Board Game Innovation is now offering Overlays for Merchants & Marauders. The Overlays come in a set of five. Four player overlays and one Enemy. The Overlays are carefully crafted to enhance game play while not detracting from the beautiful artwork on the game board and player mats.

Each set is laser cut from 1/8" clear acrylic. You can find them on our website boardgameinnovation.com

How many overlays do you get for the $11 you are charging?

Well as good as I was at stating here it was a set, as soon as anyone went to the website to purchase one, I goofed.

So, for $11 they had no idea how many they were getting! It now clearly states on the website what I said here, 4 player and 1 Enemy. I shouldn't edit web pages when I am tired, or eating, or petting the dog, or whatever I was doing when I forgot to put the quantity in!

Thanks for keeping me on track!

I almost wish the overlay was the size of the whole card, so it would hold in place my Ship Upgrades, Special Weapons, Cards, etc...

Bryce,

We did look at that, but decided that since you only placed one card or chit on each slot, and each slot was matched to the card or chit, we couldn't justify the price increase. If you believe there would be a market that would be willing to pay the expanded price, we would be willing to work one up, you are talking a LOT of acrylic.

Sincerely,
Elaine

Wow, very cool. And you have them for Eclipse too, so needed!

I love that you are selling the circles you cut out! I wish I could think of something to use them for.

Hey Mindy,

I just couldn't bring myself to throw them out. Then, as a Mom I thought of all the neat kids crafts you could do with them. My mother in law is into jewelry making, so drill a hole in them and you can use them for that. Then I am looking into making stickers to put on them to make tokens for other games.

They are a great size it seems like really bad Karma to throw them out!!!

I can't give you a definite price unless I actually design and make it, but best guess I think you are looking at something similar to our expanded eclipse tray in cuts and amount of acrylic used give or take a little in time to cut vs acrylic used. Those are $6.50 each. That is vs the $11.00 for 5 of the current trays. That would give you a final price of about $32.50 for five. That is at a guess...it could be more, it could be less.... I am just trying to give you an idea of the amount you are looking at for a tray that size with that amount of cutouts.

what about making angled "slots" to hold cards at an upright angle?

I have definitely found people like to make the games 3D. I'm wondering though about standing the cards up in M&M. As they are not double sided it would make it difficult for other players to see your captain and ship etc. Some cards were meant to be secret, others were meant to be public. Standing them up would change that dynamic.

Would it be possible to order a set of these without the url etched in? I'd prefer it blank.
