There are 4 new card images spoiled in this article.

I won't link the images here just yet so that we don't steal traffic from the FFG website. Just click on the link and look at it yourselves!

www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4093

There is a Jinteki ice that many people have been waiting for! Furthermore, it's has a Trap subtype!!! Jinteki is getting a much-needed boost to their server defense and it is low enough in influence cost so it can be splashed in many Corp decks. I'm expecting it to be used in conjunction with Data Ravens, Archers, Janus 1.0, just about anything really. WOWWWWW.

WOW. The Anarch card will be amazing in decks where you're relying on Virus programs.

Was just writing my post but you were faster.

Those cards looks amazing. Whirlpool seems scary. Quite easy and cheap to make Whirlpool + Chum + Data Mine. Jinteki needed a card that has some balls.

EDIT Also Whirlpool makes Edge of World very scary.

Surge with:

- Parasite will destroy ice two turns sooner than expected

- Crypsis will allow runs two clicks sooner

- Even deeper digs for unprepared Corps

The possibilties!!!

Funny I was thinking the same thing about Surge.

With medium out, Run Surge Run Run is huge, and pretty much guarantees they will spend next turn purging, assuming you can get through to R&D.

quickedit: Also. "SURRRRRGE!!!!" is pretty hilarious

Not that great with Crypsis, unless you just played it with Grimoire in play. You need to first spend a click to install a virus, then another to install two, which only nets you one click really. You better have a use for all those virus counters or they're getting wiped next turn.

It's great with Parasite of course (surprise -3 out of nowhere with Grimoire in play) and will help with digging into R&D in cases where each run is a bit expensive.

Whirlpool:

Runner's thoughts:
hmm... The Corp doesn't have a lot of credits. Maybe I should force the Corp to rez a piece of Ice.

Corp's thoughts:
So, you're running blind against my server without adequate link/credits/or a Killer? Well, just sit tight because I now have a Data Raven counter for the rest of the game...

It's interesting becasue this buffs both runner and corp simultaneously. The existence of whirlpool means Crypsis is going to have to be run a lot more often, which is actually ok becasue Surge make Crypsis much better.

Sometimes, the Runner has a lot of credits and there's a server 3 Ice thick that you want to use Crypsis to get through. Now, you could sit there and click 3 times which means you can't really run until next turn or you could Surge and surprise the Corp this turn.

So useful.

Throw whirlpool in front of a bullfrog, move over to a remote with one or two ice on it and Edge of World.

Surge's phrasing is confusing. If I installed two viruses this turn... do I choose one?

Just from what's been spoiled so far (7 cards), I can't even begin to wrap my mind around all of the possibilities.

I am so excited right now for this upcoming month.

If they chose to end the run instead of taking a tag, that wouldn't count as jacking out. Sadly, that means your little trick wouldn't work.

I am not sure if Data Raven makes you jack out. It just says: "When the Runner encounters Data Raven, he or she must either take 1 tag or end the run." I would consider that only "end the run" and not jack out. Seems like FFG was paying attention during card design.

Yeah, Surge looks great. Once we have Same Old Thing, it'll also become something that can be used even more frequently. I like the idea of suddenly pumping up the number of Datasucker or Parasite counters, and being able to do so more than 3 times in a game.

The Corp needed a Net Shield of their own.

And remember everyone, you must yell SURGE! to get the full effect.

Hmm... the wording makes me think EVERY card that got a virus counter on it would get 2 more, which is actually *awesome*. Which is why I'm questioning my reading ability...
