Would it be possible to play this game solo?

I don't think so, not without major modification. It's quite competitive, the hidden roles wouldn't translate, and the main mechanic is bidding on cards and cities, which makes no sense with nobody to bid against. I've only played with 5 players, but this seems to be the ideal number for all of the aforementioned aspects of the game.

i'd have appreciated a solo variant as well. however, this type of game doesn't seem like it would work as solo.

Sorry.
