Hi everyone,

I will travel to the US next week and I wonder if there is a (good) game store around Secaucus, NJ? Any clue is appreciated!

Thanks very much in advance

This 3-year old thread covered some NJ locations; you may want to research on Google maps and double check that these places still are open = http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/496451/looking-for-a-game-st...

It appears the closest boardgame store in NJ is Gamer's Gambit in Saddle Brook, which is 15 miles driving from Secaucus. Their website is here = http://www.gamersgambit.com/

However, there is a NJ Transit commuter train that runs regularly from Secaucus Junction Station to New York Penn Station in Manhattan and takes about 20 minutes travel time.

I mention it because the "closest" reliable boardgame store is in Manhattan and is only four blocks walking distance from NY Penn Station. It's called The Compleat Strategist. They are not open on Sundays and close at 6PM most nights.

The benefit is that you wouldn't have to drive or be driven by someone to get into NYC. Other than a ride to and from the Secaucus train station.

The link to finding NJ train schedules is here. The two stations are "Secaucus Junction" and "New York Penn Station" = http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=Tra...

And an info link to The Compleat Strategist is here = http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-compleat-strategist-new-york#que...:game%20stores

Hope this helps!
-Cliff

cliff's advice is spot on.

the train to and fro Secaucus is probably one of the best examples of public transit in the state(sadly). it's affordable, and runs often, as many trains running in and out of nj/ny pass through this station.

once in ny, you'll be close enough to walk to the complete strategist.

enjoy ur trip to the states
