Finally got this on pre order to the UK

I was just wondering, so that I can buy the sleeves, how many cards are in the game and what sizes they are.

Thanks

Hi Dante,

Good question!

Here is the short answer...

Small Cards = 1.75" X 2.75"

Large Cards = 2.5" x 3.625"

It can be a bit tricky finding sleaves for these sizes, and that is part of the reason for the thread we referenced for you here.

Sorry about the confusion.

There are several other threads in the history of the game that have discussed this, and different people have different ideas about which ones work best and how best to get them, etc.

Here is something I said in that thread that addresses why they are the size they are...

"For Police Precinct, with regard to the larger cards (event cards, etc.), we specified standard playing card size (2.5in x 3.5 in).

It sounds like you would prefer to see any future games we (or any publisher release) to be That size.

Is that right?

PS - Now that I measure the card itself (the larger card in the game Police Precinct), it appears to be 2.5" x 3 5/8th" (not 3.5").

Why the difference?

After some checking around within CMG, we think (to the best of our ability to remember) that this came about due to a bleed issue after the factory had our files. They were concerned that it was a little too tight, so...

They had to do some last second adjustments to make it work.

This involved tacking 1/16th of an inch onto both the top and bottom of the card."

Hope that helps.

Here is what I got for them - they are defectively a bit too big - so they fit the larger cards perfectly. They usually dont have them in stock - so get them now if you want some - really cheap and heavier duty! (1.5 cents each).

http://maydaygames.com/card-sleeves-ultra-fit-100-pack.html

No guarantee they will always work I suspect - but in my case, they did!

Dante3000, I've just sleeved up with mayday greens for the larger cards (53), and mayday mini euro's for the smaller cards (90). In both cases the cards stand proud of the sleeves by 1mm or so, otherwise a reasonable fit.

Hope this helps

I agree with Dicky on this.

Here is how I came to that number...

small cards = 44 + 4 + 14 + 10 + 10 + 8 = 90

Large Cards = 39 + 6 + 8 = 53

You might want to pick up some extras to accommodate Mad Men Cards (if you get your hands on some), and or other expansions that might be coming down-the-pike.

I anticipate more of both sizes in regard to this sort of thing.

Stay Tuned!

Great, stuff. Cheers for the help!

You'll have to explain what Mad Men cards are though. And whether I could get hold of them in the UK

Hey Dante!

MMCs (Mad Men Cards) are, what amounts to, the first expansion for Police Precinct.

Here is the scoop on MMCs...

http://www.commonman.com/mad-men-cards/

As for getting them in the UK...

I don't 100% know how that works via BGG store, but they are in the store at this point.

Nor do I 100% know how it works in UK with getting the cards via the BNW network.

We have supplied the cards to BNW, and asked them to use them in whatever way they see fit provided that they never give more than 5 to any one person.

Carsten has said that, he personally, will handle this on their end so that it goes smoothly.

So if you want some MMCs, it will be up to him, so I would recommend making friends with Carsten!

Point me in the direction of Carsten.

I can imagine these are hard to get hold of across the pond.

Card size well and good, but what card sleeves fit now?
Unfortunately find no sleeves that fit, no matter what manufacturer I was looking for.
Most card sleeves are unfortunately too short.

My Mayday ones are SLIGHTLY too small, the tops stick out a tiny bit, but it does the job.
