I brought Guns of Gettysburg with me on my annual trek here. I was hoping to get a picture of the game on the property being helped by the game auction, but it is off the road and surrounded by 'No Trespass' signs, so the following will have to do:

GoG overlooks the Valley of Death and the Devil's Den from the top of Little Round Top.

General Warren checks out the game.

The real Guns of Gettysburg

The reason for the game's name.

Hope you enjoy the pictures while we wait for the ship to pull in.

Re: Guns of Gettysburg around the Gettysburg battlefield

Been there with my parents in the 60's, been there with my own family in the 90's, and this summer going with two friends also interested in history.

Expecting it to be great.

Re: Guns of Gettysburg around the Gettysburg battlefield
A few more I took on my way out of town this morning.

Here is a shot looking from behind Buford and down the Chambersburg Pike:

The actual cannon that fired the first artillery shot of the battle is the gun pointing SW by Buford's monument. The Union kept accurate records of the artillery pieces so this is a known fact. There is a bronze marker on the piece.

And another view of this tube.

and my attempt at a homage to the cover photo. This line of artillery is on Confederate Ave, close to Rt. 30.

I'm back home from Gettysburg soblue, but I'm already planning out my next years trip.

It weighs in at 3 lbs. 11 oz. on my scale which is around 675 grams 1.675kg. The production box may differ, but I suspect by not very much.
No need for envy, soon everyone will have their copies!

Actually being a foreigner, I'm more envious of your Gettysburg visit gulp I'm trying to persuade my wife that it's a short trip from San Francisco when we visit relatives as Chrimbo whistle
Thanks for the weight - it makes a significant difference to the European delivery costs.

Also being a foreigner, I use Google to convert 3 lbs, 11 oz into 1.67 kg. BaM, a comparable game, weighs 1.1 kg. NT is much heavier.

He is correct, my converter failed me miserably!
1.7kg seems to be a safe number.

If you can make the visit, even for a day, it will be well worth it. The park service also does several human interest story side tours (free) which are well worth the time as well.
