I was thinking of starting a thread asking about the game, but now I guess I'll post my question here.

The ad banner for the game suggests playing solitaire with only AI opponents. Furthermore, it suggests that the AI will never make bad moves. How good can the AI really be? I thought that the common wisdom was that there isn't any single optimum strategy for Puerto Rico, but that groups of players often get stuck in "groupthink," sometimes forcing all players to play the same style or be overrun by the mob.

Unless the AI is a lot better than any I've ever seen, it seems like playing solitaire would lead to instant groupthink, since the AI players will have a very limited set of strategies.

Do the AI players in this game have a wide range of strategies, and are they good at adapting to changing game situations?

When I play against all AI at the professional level I win about 25% of the time. The AI seems pretty adapatable to me, but I have not played the boardgame enough to consider myself a strong PR player, so I think it would be best to get other players' input.

I've played about twice. It's OK. I'd need online opponents for this kind of a game. As a pomparison I enjoyed Klear Games' Samurai a lot more.

I laughed as well Keith, but maybe it's because of my warped mind. About how long should it take to get the game, I ordered it online on Monday?
