I don't understand why all the female character have to look like strippers. But did no one notice that the "seam" in Super Nova's costume has given her a wedgie?

It's just too much. Is this a game made by and for 13 year old boys?

This situation will only change when a super hero wearing a lollybag is created.

I totally agree with you.

Did you see this one? Lol.

What on earth is going on with that boob? Anti-gravity cantaloupe with an eyeball-sized nipple?

For shame...

Most comic book artists seem to get behind the "comic" part of "comic book" - It is to laugh.

Yeah the females in this game are terribly terribly drawn. They all look just awful.

I haven't even got to the "outraged at the objectification" phase yet but that's certainly coming too.

I noticed it...and as i stated in another picture comment...i cant get this stupid sexism in comics...as any male superhero will wave his dick around in his tights...its like all comic fans are fat dudes with greasy hair that never get a girlfriend and are trying to compensate that...

No. There are plenty of comic fans that don't get it either. I don't mind making the characters attractive, but there is a definite point where it's just silly (this game is on the wrong side of the point).

So I guess, the reason you rated this game a 1 is that you don't like the art? Well, a comment would have been nice. I wondered who rated a game that hasn't been published yet a 1.

I don't like all those girls with big boobs that populate a lot of comics either, but these are so ridiculously overdone sexy, cute and dumb looking, that I think they are fun again.

Yeah, nothing wrong with sexy characters as long as you have some of both but this stuff is A: badly done and B: pretty disgusting.

I totally agree. IMHO, that "seam" really is over the line. Not to mention the fact that all the women look like they have giant sagging sacks attached to their chest. It is degrading - has the artist seen any comics... Or actual women?

Did no one notice:

How the tendrils hanging down between his legs look so phallic?

This is a FRENCH comic book artist, everyone.

Europeans have a much more "open" attitude than we Puritanical Americans.

Even in the highly exaggerated world of comics.

Se la vie.

Did anyone notice that there's a group of female cyborg villains called the gynoids? Really? Can you get any more heavy handed with the misogyny?

Exactly. Bjorn may be a European but he obviously doesn't read French comics that contain material many times more explicit and "sexist" than the one showcased here. And they do that for decades without inciting any riots or protests against them. It is called art.

What?!

That's not misogyny that's what a robot who looked like a female would be called. Android is a male robot, gynoid is a female.

Uh, you're really reaching here.

I'd be happy to see some more phallic representation in comics (and by some I mean ANY) but those tendrils are no more phallic then a loincloth.

Also, there's some folks over on the KS project claiming to be backing it just because of this thread and how MEAN we all are.

The art for this game is actually why I won't back it. I really am not a fan of the female artwork. I could just imagine busting this game out at a gaming session (my group has men and women) and hear the comments about it. It would have to have incredible gameplay to overcome the artwork.

It's just crappy.

That may be using the correct Greek base to the words but "Gynoid" is not the accepted usage to indicate a humanoid robot that looks like a woman. So you're just stretching to defend the indefensible. Look, the creators have every right to make a misogynistic game if they want, just as I have a right to call them on it.

Okay I will comment. But your men have big shoulders? Really is that equal?

I agree completely. I like co-op games and comics, but this is too much for me to put on the table for a daughter or a wife.

I don't think the gameplay could over come the artwork.

There IS no accepted usage for that. We've always used android for both. Gynoid is just fine. You're wrong, deal with it.

And don't try that stupid bullshit that I'n trying to silence your freedom of speech, you just look twice as ridiculous. There's TONS of misogyny in this industry; it fucking boggles the mind. There's no reason to see it where it isn't.

Interesting interpretation. I back the game and I follow the comments, but the closest thing to your statement seems to be Dagda's statement that he loathes this discussion. I don't see any reference that someone here is mean.
