...Amadeus Mozart, born in 1756, not Kramer (born June 29, 1942). I'm currently playing the Requiem at work, which may be considered morbid by some, but it's my favorite by him. Maybe I'll break out "Le Nozze..." later.

Maybe we need a calendar of game designers' birthdays so we can sink further into geekdom by playing their games on their b-days.

I'm not sure, but I think the Days of Wonder calendar has that.

I'll be playing Australia today on lunch as my way of saying Happy Birthday to Mozart. Or something.

I believe you forgot to mention the part about you dressing up as the 'Queen of the Night' today.

I have also been listening to the Requiem today, and tonight I'm hearing it in concert by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and four soloists. Should be a good show...

Enjoy the show!. The Requiem was performed here in Ann Arbor last week, conducted by Sir John Elliot Gardner. I missed it, though it turned out some $10 tickets were still available. By all accounts it was amazing. soblue

Oh, I'm sorry you missed Gardiner -- that would have been great. University towns occasionally have extraordinary visitors -- I did my undergrad work at Indiana University, and got to see Pinchas Zuckerman with the Tokyo String Quartet, as well as the Kronos Quartet (some of whom are IU grads). Ann Arbor is a fun town, my cousin is in grad school there and I visited for the first time last summer.

The ISO is doing a little Mozart festival right now, but this is the only concert in the series I'll be able to catch. (Going to hear the Rach. 2 in three weeks, though! Woo!)

[Edited to correct: it was Zuckerman, not Itzhak Perlman, who I saw. Brain freeze!]
