If so, how good is the experience?

TIA

I think it would only be enjoyable if you like thought experiments. A very basic part of the game is not knowing what cards your opponents have. The only way that would translate as a 1-player game is to experiment how various cards would interact. It wouldn't be something I'd do, but some folk might enjoy it.

I posted a solo variant I came up with on Consimworld, and it's now avilable on www.grognard.com too. You miss out on the interactions to some extent, and there's more of a random element, but it does create an enjoyable narrative as you play. I play games solo for the 'stories' they create, so it works for me.

imho, virtually all games can be played solitary. I love to play all card driven games solitary. It is not only because there is a lack of players but I like to switch point of view and play that particular player in the same game. I find this highly enjoyable.

A bit of thread necromancy here...

... I suppose another major reason for solo play, is to get a handle on the rules before bringing it to a group. It'll never be the same experience, but sometimes it's easier to figure things out by *pretending* to play all sides.
