Editor’s Note: My full review of Ars Mysteriorum can be found under the Game Reviews section of the East Tennessee Gamers website.
All neophytes were called to once again participate in the tense alchemy competition. Jim, Jared, Erin, Gail and I traveled from tent to tent, gathering articles and elements needed to from precious items.
I grabbed a Mystery card early that allowed me to make two purchases on the same turn, and this did give me an early edge. However, I lagged behind in terms of income, and it was evident that Erin and Jim were enjoying a healthy income each turn. I was hoping to secure the end-game majority in both gems and aromatics, but was thwarted by Erin in gems and only managed a tie with Gail in the valuable aromatics category.
Jim’s consistent income was enough to earn him the victory.
Finals: Jim 98, Erin 88, Gail 82, Greg 81, Jared 70
Ratings: Greg 7.5, Jared 7.5, Gail 7, Jim 7, Erin 7
