Once, maybe twice a week (not more often ( - so it stays exciting) ), we could have a regularly scheduled get together in the chat area. Create a new chat room called "full moon club" and play live werewolf, typed.

Everyone's invited to the full moon club. play nice. no biting.

Saturday nights, bgg time? Have small games (5-11 players?), so not too much down time after you're killed, and so we can all take turns being moderator/players.

If lots of people show up, make 2nd room, etc.

Suggestions:
* time limits per day/night cycle, so games don't take forever.
* set up clear ground rules regarding use of technologies (PM'ing, skype, etc)
* flexibility in ground rules, to allow lots of change and variety.
* create a pinned thread in the main ww forum containing a list of complete rulesets. Therefore, a moderator can say, now let's play ruleset #4, and the players will look and see what the rules, roles, technologies, etc for game #4 are.

Two different times of week should be chosen, because though I'm at home and awake on a lot of Saturday nights, people in europe should be sleeping then, and U.S. people not living up to the standards of boardgameGEEK may be out having fun.

I'd object to that ruleset, my game group has found masons to be TERRIBLY broken even with more players, and in 7-player it's beyond broken.

SevenSpirits posted a very balanced 7-player roleset in RoyalFlush's live WW post.

Saturday US time works well for me with a little warning, as it's Sunday here.

I'd be happy just to have chat without a ww game going on (although ww would be fun too!)

#1 was an example to get the ball rolling. Please add to the thread by posting less objectionable rulesets. After you've put up a few, I will remove the shameful #1.

thr, you've modded live typed ww before. your input here would be great.

Can we find a time that suits everyone?

These times are BGG time / Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time / UK time so will change in another month or so when the US and UK start Daylight Savings and we stop

BGG Aus UK
12n 5am 6pm
1pm 6am 7pm
2pm 7am 8pm
3pm 8am 9pm <-- this could be promising.
4pm 9am 10pm <-- or this
5pm 10am 11pm
6pm 11am 12m
7pm 12n 1am
8pm 1pm 2am
9pm 2pm 3am
10pm 3pm 4am
11pm 4pm 5am
12m 5pm 6am
1am 6pm 7am
2am 7pm 8am
3am 8pm 9am
4am 9pm 10am <-- this also promising if US players are keen
5am 10pm 11am
6am 11pm 12n
7am 12m 1pm
8am 1am 2pm
9am 2am 3pm
10am 3am 4pm
11am 4am 5pm

I'm sorry, I hope I didn't offend you, I was trying to be helpful but maybe I didn't go about it the right way! soblue

Here's some of my advice on chat WW, copied from Royalflush's thread...

9-player format with PMs. That's the best short game format. Since there is no such thing as voting record in a live game, and also no benefit of real-life body language, runnign a very basic game would be (in my opinion) terribly boring.

The problem is people simply do not show up at x time on x day for a game, they'll keep showing up in the room long after the start time, so actually plan for the game to start an hour after your posted time, and last 1-2 hours.

My advice: Plan VERY far in advance (like two weeks). Ask people to sign up on the thread and ask them again the day before. I'll be surprised if you get enough people to run this a few days from now, but who knows.

Anyway the planning in advance isn't that relevant since you want to make a schedule for it.

Here was Sean's suggested ruleset:
1 Wolf
1 "Cobbler-Tinker" (Evil aux that looks like wolf to seer)
1 Sorcerer

1 Seer
1 Hunter
1 Priest
1 Villager

We play this ruleset in live ww in person quite often, it seems skewed and frightening but it is actually quite balanced because none of the evils know each other.

Jumping in with a decision - well, a suggestion anyway.

I suggest 3pm BGG this Saturday, Feb 11th, to kick this off.

That's 8am Sunday in the Eastern part of Australia
9pm Saturday in the UK
10pm Saturday in the Netherlands.

Alternative: Can many people make 4pm BGG time on Friday Feb 10th? (that's 9am Sat in Aus, 10pm Fri in the UK, 11pm in the Netherlands - guess I just answered my own question)

I suggest we just make it for chat this time & see how we go, maybe play a pickup game if we feel like it.

Next question is where - the BGG chatroom or on MSN (see Royalflush's thread). There are good arguments for both.

Saturday would suit me better than friday. Although I haven't got any experience with M$N I don't mind trying it out. I'm not that familiar with Geekchat either, so I do not have a preference.

Well, Saturday just became possible as my GF is delaying her return from India until Sunday. Count me in, provisionally at least.
Friday - perfectly possible but not as good.

So shall we meet in GeekChat and take it from there?

If BGG is down (*shudder*) then we should go straight to MSN. Royalflush is coordinating collection of email addresses so we can set up chatrooms etc. Or you can PM/email me with your address if you want it just as a backup for this chat.
