hello, I recently acquired all the sets for this great game, but I don't have all updated rules. specifically, what does t1 t2,etc, and the X stand for? Also the symbols DS, and on the penalties-OFF S and DEF S...
Any help from anyone who remembers this classic would be very appreciated, thanks

You can use either:
[A] Quick Method:
DS = 6
X = 12
T1 = 28
T2 = 55
T3 = 83
[B]The Full-Feature Method:
Roll the offensive dice again immediately to determine the yardage, as follows:
DS = Direct Sum of the numbers on the three dice(add the three numbers up).
X = 40 minus the normal offensive total.
T1 = The normal offensive total.
T2 = The total of two consecutive normal offensive dice rolls.
T3 = The total of three consecutive normal offensive dice rolls.
Both players must agree before the game starts which method will be used.
The variable penalties also have two methods for determining the outcome:
[A] Quick Method: Count "S" penalties as 5 yards and "R" penalties as 15 yards.
[B] Full Feature Method:
Immediately roll the offensive dice again:
OFF S = 5yds on a roll of 10-32, 10yds on a roll of 33-36, 15yds on a roll of 37-39.
DEF S = 5yds on a roll of 10-32, 10yds on a roll of 33, 15yds on a roll of 34-39.
OFF R = 5yds on a roll of 10-19, 10yds on a roll of 30-39, 15yds on a roll of 20-29.
DEF R = 5yds on a roll of 20-29, 10yds on a roll of 10-19, 15yds on a roll of 30-39.
Offensive results in parentheses completely overrule(and are not combined with) any and all defensive results except:
[A] A TD in parentheses.
A correct wild card defense
The results in A and B overrule ALL offensive results.
Roll the offensive dice and look at the dice total column near the right edge of the Special Teams Chart. The totals in red represent missed extra points; all others represent success.
A final point of interest is that ALL charts in ALL team sets are granted the conditional wild card defense(even the Ivy League teams!) - if the defense guesses incorrectly, the defensive result is a "2" in a green box.
