Is it possible to move a unit and attack with it in the same inpulse?

From the rules I get the impression that any one unit may either Move, attack or re-supply.

But this would lead to the possibility that you could avoid combat by always moving away from your opponent. For example: The British move their units to a hex adjacent to a german unit, but are not allowed to attack because they moved. On the german inpulse, the german unit moves away. Then on the next british inpulse, they would again be unable to attack that german unit...

And, if you are indeed allowed to move and attack in the same inpulse, does that mean that you are also allowed to move, attack and then re-supply during a single inpulse?...

You're correct that a unit can only do one of those three things in an impulse (and only units with vehicle symbols may do anything during the third impulse of a turn).

You are also correct that units can try to avoid being attacked by moving away from the enemy units. Remember, infantry cannot avoid mechanized units (vehicle symbols) during the third impulse.

Thank you for the quick response.

I suspected as much, but wanted to make sure, since a fairly good german strategy seems to be to have as many survivors as possible during the last turns and make a break for a short stretch of road in the end.

Right -- you can have them either try to hold back XXX Corps (don't allow XXX Corps across the streams if you can help it) and use the German supply to continually rebuild them, or have them all skidaddle offboard so that the Allies are forced to garrison the area, therby preventing them moving towards Nijmegen and Arnhem in force.

One of the many nice things about the game is that you can try it each way in an evening.
