I am concerned that I'm not using the "birdie" pet correctly in this expansion. When it says that the chosen hero "ignores"...does that mean that I get one less adventurer for the whole year? or does it just mean that I can avoid getting the MOST evil? I have been unable to find anything about this online. I hope people read this forum still, thanks!

So when you reveal Birdie during the Assign Adventurers phase, you select which adventurer (except for the weakest one) you want to lure to your dungeon. Then the other adventurers are divvied up between the remaining dungeon lords and you aren't eligible for one of those, as you've already gotten yours.

That makes sense and fits with his "luring song" theme. Also it means I was literally interpreting the word "take" incorrectly as I was interchanging it with "select" I suppose. Thank you for the fast reply. Do people in your gaming circle like this expansion btw? I haven't read much positive but...I love it myself and I'm thinking I might add it to my group game this weekend. So far only my gf and I have played it together.

Jury's still somewhat out within my game group, the consensus thus far is that it's interesting but makes the game longer and a fair amount more complicated.

I've played online here at BGG through PBEM and we all like it a lot, but we're also a fairly hardcore group of DL fans.

Unlike some expansions, I don't feel that it's necessary and won't be playing it every time I play DL, but it does add a ton to the game and is great if you have some DL vets who are up for the added challenge and complexity.

DL is intimidating enough for new players without adding this in.
