I would totally drive an MRAP.

Someone needs to set up a company to by these up on the cheap, and sell them on the private market.

In the early 90's post-USSR, someone had set up a company to export Russian military jeeps to the US for commercial sale in the SUV market. For whatever reason that never came to pass, but man, that would have been cool.

Not 100% certain, but pretty sure it was the UAZ-469.

You would be calculating gallons per mile, not miles per gallon...

A couple of decades ago a lot of light Russian 4WDs were imported here for sale as private vehicles..they had a reputation for shoddiness..you don't see them around these days..

I remember bouncing around in them in Mongolia. The good news: they were easy to repair. The bad news: they needed frequent repair.
