Thanks for the heads up !

It is pretty expensive for a dice game though.
Was quite excited for this but now my interest has waned a little
:(
Quite a ways off my budget

If I wanted to get this and the original VivaJava my only option is the $110 funding level?

I would like to note that, as I missed the original VivaJava: The Coffee Game project, I wanted in for the whole deal enough to drop my Dark Darker Darkest pledge. With limited funds, I'm going to go with the company I like better and the game that will hit the table more. Win on both counts.

Yeah, I'm really anxious for more information. If it's the sort of thing I'm thinking, it fits in perfectly with the idea I had for a drop-of-the-hat battle that you could do around cons or on JCCC or similar things.

From what I can tell from the video on the kickstarter, it maybe a dice speed rolling micro-game - where you want to be the first to get pips in ascending order. However, the angry expansion of VivaJava Dice looks like it will give you an option to use Angry Dice game as a mini-game (via mini-game Anger Arena coaster).

Hmmm.....maybe there should be a mini-game coaster for Lucky Dice too? Depending on your score - depends what you get in terms of PP (victory points) or even some extra RP (research points).

That's exactly what it is! Except instead of dropping a hat, the original version required a Ricola. I'll let Chris spill the beans when he's ready, but I really hope you like it.

That's pretty close, but with 3 or 4 twists. Stay tuned!

Yes, one thing about Origins that really sucked was I hung out with you and Emily for like five minutes total. Or else you would have Angry Diced it up! I need to force Ben to have another game night when/if I have off on one of these weekends.

Has any consideration been given to making the research cards pegboards? Even a magnetic board + marker would be preferable to a pencil check-off type deal.

I'm a little surprised that Canada is grouped with all international orders at an additional $20 for each pledge level.

Allow me to voice my thoughts on the paper-and-pencil issue. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of a pad of paper as a way of keeping track of things in games. Little pencils irritate me, and I hate running out of the papers, even if it's as easy as printing out more.

That being said, I also recognise the desire for affordability and portability. That hits both marks. I'd settle for a laminated sheet and providing my own wet-erase marker, but I have the feeling there's a more elegant solution out there.

Blame the USPS. They raised the postage for Canada packages a few months ago to international rates.

A++ would thumb again. I wish we could afford to give a break for Canadian shipping, but we actually lost quite a bit on The Great Heartland Hauling Co. doing that because the USPS shifted those prices before the games arrived. It had to be fulfilled with an alternate source. If the US and Canada would just get together and realize they're all on the same continent, it would make things a lot easier for everybody.

Cheers,
Chris
