Hi everyone,

Just a quick follow up report on the First Melbourne Eurogamesfest that came and went on Sat, 11th Feb.

The organiser, David Fuga, is a game enthusiast who has been running private gaming sessions for his mates. When Don Bone (founder of the Canberra Eurogamesfest) was looking to start something in Melbourne, David kindly offered to make his then private sessions public.

The location, Melbourne Bridge Club in Kew is conveniently located just off Kew Junction. Easy access with trams and there are lots of eating spots around the area.

The location occuppied the entire top floor of a shophouse and easily hold 120+ people. There are numerous card tables setup for gaming and a nice little kitchen space with an ample supply of coffee, tea and milk.

Our inaugural session saw at least 25-30 people pass through the doors from 2pm till 12am. The games played included:

For Sale
Flauschenteufel
Big City
Ra
St Petersburg
Ticket to Ride Europe
Transeuropa
El Grande
Maharaja
Killer Bunnies
Bridges of Shangri-La
6 Nimmt!

There were many other games (David brought over 30 games and each one of us brought at least 2 games each).

We are hoping to make this an ongoing monthly event to keep the momentum growing and there are plans for promoting the events on Boardgamegeek and in Game Stores.

Look out for updates for the next session details as well as other announcements. More details can be found on http://www.eurogamesfest.com/

Hope to see you all at the next session!

Cheers,
Shawn Low

Another enjoyable day of gaming for our second session once again 25-30 attendees in total, will post photo's (only 4) on http://www.eurogamesfest.com/ MELB. Sorry, everyone who missed out ME included on photo's. Had a great day, learnt Elasund, will be purchasing, as I have realised it's always better to play a game before buying it, although the bgg reviews were spot on, hope to hear how others faired on the day. seeya David Fuga
