Hi everyone,

I love Tikal and Torres, and I see that these two designers have collaborated on several other games. The ones I know about are:

Australia
Bison
Celtica
Evergreen
Haste Worte
Java
Jump
Maharaja: Palace Building in India
Mexica
Pepper
Pueblo
Sunken City
That's Life!

What do you think? If these other games are as good as Tikal and Torres, I'm drooling over the possibilities. *Homer Simpson drooling sounds*

Everyone has their favorites, but the ones typically grouped among the ones you mentioned are:
Java
Maharaja: Palace Building in India
Mexica

Those plus the two you mentioned are my favorites from the list.

I like Mexica (I love area enclosure) the best followed by Torres and Tikal. I personally can not stand Java. Maharaja I like but feel no need to own. For a light romp That's Life is a great purchase.

We've been playing Australia quite a bit lately and to me it feels much like a member of the "face mask trilogy" (Tikal, Java, Mexica). Probably more on the Mexica end of the depth scale but it's a lot of fun.

1. Maharaja: Palace Building in India
2. Tikal
3. Torres
4. Mexica
5. Java

Very interested in Bison. But since I don't know the rest of the list, I don't know if my 'ranking' is worth something. Maharaja is really a great game. But you have to like a certain amount of chaos in your games.

I agree with the above comments that you probably will like Mexica or Java too (because of being member of the Mask trilogy).

Sunken City did not get as good ratings so that I was never motivated to give it a try.

Celtica is a new familiy oriented game and maybe too light for you. Some people already rant that it is flawed.

Bison is more demanding and on my personal watchlist for new games. Good first impression.

Haste Worte (there is no English edition, isn't it?) does not suit into this list (I own it). It's a Party game like Taboo, Outburst, Cranium etc. where under time pressure you try to find the most words according to the Question. No strategic decisions to take. I don't think you are looking for that one.

If you want to hear the whole BGG in a second, try "Advanced Search" (insert the names of the designers and, if you like, other parameters like number of players, ratings, etc.).
Have fun! meeple

My favorite K&K game is Maharaja. Tied for second favorite are Torres and Australia. Tikal and Pueblo are probably tied for third.

Kramer is my favorite - even more so than Knizia.

If you liked Torres, I would recommend JAVA, which is heavier and adds more theme. It scales well for 2, 3 or 4 people.

Mexica is a great bet if you play with 3 or more. It is lousy with only two people.

Personally, I could not figure out Maharaja. It was pure chaos and left me cold.

Bison is my most anticipated game. I hope it is good.

I've not yet played the mask series, but I can say that Maharaja is one of my all time favorites (rated a 10). I'm also a fan of other Kramer games such as El Grande (10 rating) and Princes of Florence (currently an 8).

Is Hacienda a K-K game?

Well, yeah, there are loads are great Kramer games. I think here we're only concerning ourselves with K&K games.

Agreed - if Torres and Tikal are your cup of tea, you should run to the store to buy Java and Mexica.

Here is my opinion.
Liked Tikal and Torres, but Java struck me as almost the same game as Tikal. So I personally would not want to have both in my collection.
Have to put in another vote for Maharaja.
Just got it and my gaming group has asked for it 3 times all ready.
Has some of the most beautiful bits I have seen in a game.
Think it is a blast to play and it gets my highest recommendation.
Scales well from 2-5 but does play better with more.
Good luck with your decision.
You really can not go wrong.
K+K are great designers.
