Anyone using these yet? A poor man's mini but might be an improve.

We can always butt them up together on a hex to indicate they are in same space.

This space left intentionally blank.

One last tour here on the Death Star and I can retire. What was that noise?!

Is the plan to color code the stand to indicate team affiliation, since the counter will no longer be face up or face down?

I saw a store which sold FFG stands yesterday or something while checking for sleeves to. Never thought about having to have many characters in one place though. Thought more about wear / markings / damaging the token.

Maybe it is just groupthink on our part, but our games usually develop a scrum with 5-6 characters in it. That being said, I do like the idea of the charcter tokens being vertical to make them stand out easier. I have difficulty seeing what terrain is in their space sometimes.

We can easily put a white or black dot on the stand. I'm thinking the small, clear ones.

Had a bunch here for one game or another and can't find them now. Litko probably has them.

I can't find the star wars ones they mentioned on the site (what to pick?)

Anyway what I saw was this:

I don't know whatever the thickness is correct.

But it doesn't solve everyone standing on the same spot. Though I guess one could make a plastic disc with a drawn star on it where you place the star on the spot and the units on the ends of the lines.

Guess one could even make droplet shaped ones with a dot where in the narrow end and put that dot on the spot the character actually is on and the character on the thicker end of the droplet to make it more clear where it stands and what is underneath.

Tokens may stack in a hex. They may become very hard to balance, if on stands.

Make springloaded stands where you can fix multiple tokens but horisontally. Or pyramid shape and tell people "no more than 4!"

Hard to see through a pyramid though.

Why not wooden discs or cylinders?

Maybe these?

I blutac-ed character tokens to black and white wooden discs for DOA1, and that worked pretty good. You could still stack 6 or so before they became precarious.

If the footprint is small enough you can get maybe up to 6 characters on a space. I'm looking at 1/2" x 1/4" binder clips. Haven't seen them in white but they could be marked or even painted I suppose:
