As I was playing the game, I came across two guards. One of them (a red one) started attacking me. While it obviously crossed the other guards line-of-sight (a yellow guard), the yellow guard turned and left the room. Then a green guard spawned due to a missed shot. I fired a shotgun at the red guard, while I was right next to the green guard, but he too just walked away.

Am I playing this wrong, or is there a way to fix this?

Hi Eli, check page 8 of the rulebook: guard reactions

1. If the agent is visible and in a guard's LoS, such guard will SHOOT at the agent and then will MOVE 1 area (2 areas if such guard is RED).


Guards are not actually deaf: if you run, they turn to look at you.

During attacks, the reaction chart is already quite complex so to make things more "playable" I had to abstract things out... Besides, the guards are already tough as is.

If its really an issue, try with a LoS that encorporates the row/column the guard is, and not only the rows/columns in front of the guard.

I think if you shoot a gun in a tile with guards, all guards should turn towards you.

I was standing right next to the guard. It makes sense that he can't see me, but not that if I shoot a shotgun right next to him, he'll just walk away.

Otherwise, great game!
