I've been playing games for a long time now but I've never gone to a gaming group (I'm too shy to go to an established group on my own). Most of my gaming friends have left the city and I'd like to start a regular group that meets on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. I'm a casual gamer but I'd love to start gaming more regularly.

I live in the Richmond and work downtown so I would prefer to meet somewhere near one of those areas (or somewhere in-between).

Some of my favorite games are: Eclipse, Dominant Species, Puerto Rico, Small World, RftG and Cyclades but I love learning new games too.

I would love to have a small group of chill regulars to game with...any interest?

It's a pre-existing group but it's pretty small, meets on Sundays and is in your backyard.

I think the name of the cafe has changed recently but the address should still be the same.

I go to the related group that meets in the mission as that's convenient for me...

That one is a much larger group - maybe upwards of 40 people on a good night.

Also check: http://sfgames.org/ (I think it's the same as the Sunday Meetup, but it also includes the friday one). The Friday one is a little bigger I think (or at least it was when I lived in SF).

What others have said about the Friday evening MeetUp. 20-30 gamers, starting 7 pm, San Jose Taqueria on Mission and 24th. Euros seem to be strongly favored. It's a very informal meetup (no greeters), so just ask to join as people are setting up. Most games start right at 7 pm, so if you get there 10 minutes late you may have to wait a while to join a game.

Parking is a pain, so BART to 24th st from downtown and then Muni to get home would probably be the way to go for you.

Hey Chris, if you end up wanting to start something new, I'd be happy to help! SF Games didn't hit the right notes for me, so I've been looking for a smaller group to hang out with.

Im over in West Portal and work downtown as well. Have a couple young kids so somewhat time constrained but would be interested in a small gaming group.
