Hi - since i like the storys very much - you can use the characters - for special characters - HEY ! i am searching for the storys that where published in citadel magazine, necomunda magazine and gang war. does anybody know if they where republished in any gw book by chance ? maybe the necromunda omnibus ? It would be real great to know, since i only would buy that gigantic volume if everything is contained in it ( i hate omnibus volumes - i rarely read them because they are not nice to carry around in the bus)

According to google this would be everything ever published but never republished :

Citadel Journal 15 - Youngblood: Fiction
Citadel Journal 19 - Rich Boy: Spyre Hunters Fiction
Gang war 1 - The Dog Soliders: Andy Chambers' Original Playtest Gang
Gang war 2 - The Black Orchid: Gang from Battles of the Underhive
Necromunda mag 1 - The Future of Necromunda - Hive Secondus wow
Necromunda mag 2 - questionare
NEcromunda mag 6 - Shanty Dwellers 'crawler' vehicle
Necromunda Mag 10 - The Future: Necromunda Redux wow
Necromunda Magazine Volume 2 - Issue 1 - Necromunda Underhive Gallery

I am specially interrested in the future of necromunda and necromunda redux, but everything else also stirs my interrest extremly (according to user consectari from zetaboards hive secundus would have been this : "Hive Secundus was the suppliment GW was supposed to do for Necromunda. It was supposed to have Arbites and new house gangs. It just never materialised. ") And i just got the info that necromunda redux was the working title for "necromunda : underhive", is this supported by the article in nm19 ?

thanks in advance,
lsd

Hmmm You might want to check with the actual author of that quote (he/she shouldn't be too hard to find online). At any rate, let us know what you find! I'm certainly interested.

With some aggressive Googling, you can track down pdf's of the various Necromunda magazines. None of the aforementioned articles are short stories.

The various magazines have various concepts on the "future" of Necromunda. In short, the game was defunct, no longer for sale, or officially supported, with miniatures only available though GWUK mail order or secondary sources. This was pre-internet, pre-ebay, etc. Rules were not available to new players. After a few very lean years Jervis Johnson proposed to revive the miniature line (they did), terrain (sadly no), and rules with "no changes" (more on that to come). He called this Necromunda Redux.

Later, when the rulebook was re-written (with rules changes) that project's working title was first Necromunda Hive Primus, to distinguish it from notional future expansions or settings (Ash Waste or Hive Secundus).

In the end, the 2nd edition rulebook was called Necromunda Underhive. To the great credit of Specialist Games, it overcame strong headwinds from GWHQ and finally made the rules available, again. Underhive really didn't change much from the original rules. They were slightly updated to account for the discontinuation of Sustained Fire dice, settled on one type of die (D6 vice D4, etc.), and simplified template types to the ones now available for 40K. It also implemented the notorious (and unnecessary) Gang Weapon Availability charts. The downside was it did not incorporate existing errata, and was rife with typos. The tragic bicycle accident death of the editor during the re-write was cited as the reason for the rulebook's shortcomings.

Now, this is all from the magazine articles and the old Specialist Games website. Ash Waste rules were written, revived, and then redone, all from fan support. I believe Hive Secundus was to have been set in a derelict hive infested by a Genestealer Cult. BTW, GW never published an official Genestealer Cult, and the various GSC fan rules vary greatly.

Gang War 5 magazine has a fan written campaign called "Apocalypse. It is premised on a Genestealer invasion of "Hive Secundus" followed by a Tyranid invasion of Necromunda. It's not official background. I don't know which came first, this article, or Hive Secundus rumors.
