You're welcome Markun, I really enjoyed the process and learning in depth about a new character. Certainly a specialist she is and not easy to play her well.

And good job on the analysis and tips. You're so good at capturing the true essence of a character in a few words, and at distilling its key tactics and strategy. I strive to get to your level of analysis. Keep up the good work.

I have not played this character yet, but I like trading hits too much to play her well.

However, I like that you do not have to commit your Concentration tokens (unlike Oriana) to be able to utilise your effects.

Well, Yannick did write the "base guide."

Like I said in the video, I pointed out certain things that were missed and certain things that were "wrong"

I think it's mostly because of the time when I said that Sorceress was more powerful than he thought it was.

That's why she's so strong. She doesn't waste tokens AT ALL. You use them when you need them. That's it.

I did, but Markun significantly improved it. My base analysis was much weaker than his. The video you see is mostly his insights that he expanded and refined, based on my text. My objective for my next guide is to provide an analysis that's better targeted and refined so that he can spend less time "correcting me".

Just finished the video; nice job Yannick and Marco! I was getting worried that Marco didn't have enough time to continue this series but I'm really glad he is still making them and getting some community support.

When I was up against Marm, I was absolutely terrified of Petrifying and Nullifying. She has some great, great styles but they must be fueled by tokens, making her a very versatile character as long as she has some tokens. And she can definitely make opponents play sub-optimally because of some of those aforementioned styles.

Also, you guys provided some great insight into the three "defensive" bases that must be utilized to help maintain Concentration tokens. One major drawback to Marm is that, without enough tokens, the opponent can really predict which style you will play. Without 4 tokens, chances are you won't use Barrier. With that in mind, it may be good to mix up these styles and play them even if you can't afford the effects, especially if they provide some form of mobility or if paired with a base like Burst or Dash.

Great video, guys! Keep them coming!

Yeah, it was tough! But I think I'm getting the groove back. The next one will be decided by your guys! Voting ends tomorrow!

The big trio of attrition. Nullifying, Petrifying and Barrier. Those 3 combined with some pooled tokens makes Marmalee extremely hard to commit to attacking.

Yes! This is exactly what I mean! People are always so caught up in your effects that they fail to realize how a single point of Power/Priority/Range can utterly change the entire beat. Burst is another base I should have mentioned but Dash, Strike and Shot make up most of my rotations as Marms. Burst is great but a little range goes a LONG way.

Burst is countered by Shot and Shot is arguably "the most used base in game." So it's hard for me to tell people to use it since it's pretty risky to do so.

BUT, you are correct in saying that given the situation, it will be amazing!

Yeah, now that all flights are out, we'll be talking about the characters in each flight and how they size up against the original 18.

I am very interested in hearing your thoughts here! This, in fact, is what I am most excited for when I get Devastation; playing War X Devastation matches.

Well, I've already expressed my opinion on some characters: Eligor for example.

However, my friends will have some insight of their own. They're basically 3 other dudes who play like me. XD

Well, it utterly depends. We all have specific playstyles that revolve around our "safe meta" of counter play and no risks.

We have me who uses option pressure and second-guessing to achieve safe results. Robert and Hikaru are my War "mains" and fall under this category.

We have Kiko who uses stat monsters in specific ways to form safe plays. Needless to say, he plays a mean Demitras/Cadenza.

Next is Ar-j who uses effects to pressure you out of attacks. He likes Seth and Sagas.

Finally, we have Icon who is the "anti-meta" in our circle. He makes use of safe play but will randomly take risks to put off our rhythms. He likes using Cherri and Hepzibah.

We all revolve around being safe but we achieve it and control opponents in different ways. We'll have vastly different opinions on many characters since we "exemplify" certain "metas" in the game.

I represent prediction pressure.
Ar-j makes use of sub-optimal attrition.
Kiko is a paragon of stat mongering and "alternate play"
Icon shows unpredictability.

So expect some crazy debates between us.
