The very last image draws the authenticity of the first three images into doubt. Is this for real? They look pretty real, but I've been going to worth1000.com for long enough to never trust another image found on the internet as authentic.

Yes, they are very real and totally undoctored. They were taken with multiple cameras at the very first ever atomic explosion - the Trinity test at Alamagordo NM by one Harold Edgerton.

Most people are familiar with his work though they are not aware of that fact.

Edgerton was a master of stroboscopic photography and some more excellent examples of his (and others' of the same ilk) work can be seen at this page --> http://www.tonyrogers.com/weapons/images/high_speed_photos/

I know for a fact the top nine are his... not sure about that hot dog one in tenth spot...

And the atomic ones of course.

EDIT: actually I don't think the second apple one is his either.

Nice, I really like the first apple. I wish there were more picutres of the atomic bomb blast.
