for this honor.

Justin has been an admin for some time and has sometimes reigned me in when I needed reigning in.

My two truths and a lie. I was never drafted by a major league baseball team (I am rather disappointed that by far this was by far the largest vote getter shake)

In his own words:

Quote:
Just your friendly neighborhood Admin for FTL here, Jfro.

My gaming history.

When I was an early teen I was a pretty big nerd. I loved me some ST:TNG, Star Wars, comic books, and other assorted nerdery. There was a store in the mall "The Game Keeper" (remember that chain?), and it sold Magic: The Gathering (Revised was the newest set). Well I got hooked after my first starter purchase. I had countless MTG decks, lots of Jyhad stuff (that I had never played), Illuminati, Wyvern, and a ton of Dragon Dice (which I wish I still had).

Somewhere in an old Scrye magazine they talked about the meta game of MTG, and the author described it as being similar to the meta of Diplomacy. Well that weekend I had the black box deluxe edition.

Thus my first real board gaming experience was playing the king of games.
We played for an hour and a half a week after school with our Latin teacher, because of course we were all in the Latin Club as well.

Axis and Allies was also played a lot, and I had a copy of Squad Leader as well.

We also had fledgling Warhammer 40k armies when a GW moved into the mall.

Junior/Senior year of HS found me leaving games as a hobby. I bounced around in life a bit, and in the mid 2000's got back into board gaming in a big way. My adventures in college were grand but ultimately ended up in my decision to leave my former life behind and live in a new way. I was accepted to study for the priesthood in my local diocese's seminary. I was shocked to find a couple of 40k players, and a couple of eurogame players in the halls of our dormitory. (This is where my Avatar comes from)

I have since left that program of formation, and re entered the private sector.

My current gaming tastes lean far more towards Wargames than Euro's abstracts, "ameritrash"/thematics, or party games. I am known to play Werewolf here on BGG, but the games end up taking a lot out of me so I have become scarce there. I have become enamored with Android: Netrunner and am looking forward to playing that in an emerging scene locally. Biweekly I play in a Risk:Legacy (groan, but it is fun) night featuring craft beer, brewers from local breweries, home brewing experts, and beer writers.

I love BGG for the community it can foster.

oh and I LOVE MARMITE.

Two truths and a lie.

Poll
I can't even hazard a guess.
My favorite College Football team is LSU
I ran a bohemian poetry open mic while I was in college
I once had a totally shaved head and a beard down to my chest, complete with 6g earrings and a "scrumper" piercing

All reality is a game. Physics at its most fundamental, the very fabric of our universe, results directly from the interaction of certain fairly simple rules, and chance; the same description may be applied to the best, most elegant and both intellec
