I've recently been reading a few blogs but find the way in which they are accessed to be a bit clunky. Do you recommend any blogs? Do you write your own blogs? I have just written my first blog today:

Yes, if the blog has compelling content.

A few of them meet this requirement.

No. Might be more useful to you if you made a poll out of this.

I don't read any religiously, but I usually browse the daily blog posts and see if anything catches my eye.

There are a couple that I check out from time to time, but I don't subscribe to any. I've thought of starting my own, but I'm too lazy/busy. It's easier just to do the occasional drive-by posting in other people's threads.

I read any that catch my eye and have starter my own blog too. I copy some of the content to the BGG blog area, but it is (for me at least) quite an unfriendly system.

I look at ones that pop up based on my subscriptions. I am subscribed to blogs from a couple of designers I enjoy.

Meta threads like this should go in the forum for discussing BGG rather than in General Gaming.

While on the subject, and to avoid scattering this complaint around, the same applies to these threads from the forum pg. 1 as well:

Do iOS board games, such as Agricola, Carcassonne, Ascension, Ticket to Ride, etc. belong on BGG or VGG?

This is probably my favorite blog:

He just always seems to have topics that directly interest me. I also love his reviews. Anyway, check it out.

I only read blog posts that mention any game or games that I'm currently reading up on. They don't tend to be very useful, but I'll occasionally come across a gem.

I am subscribed to this blog, which occasionally updates with kickstater analysis' that I find useful. I could cheerfully subscribe to another one or two if I found things that interest me, but mostly I follow blogs off site, mostly things I've found through cardboard edison which brings a load of interesting/useful things together.

I write a blog, which updates more days than not. It's supposed to be about the experiences I'm having working for a small publisher as a full time board game designer, but the majority of posts wind up being about game design in general. Some people like it enough to keep reading, which is enough to keep me writing it

When I got started on BGG I posted in the "How-to" section asking about the best ways to get a blog started. One piece of advice I got was "Find a thinly veiled excuse to post about it in general gaming, as a lot of people just read that" but I was warned off such behvaiour by some nice mods. A much better piece of advice that I received was to write things that are worth reading and occasionally talk about big games, then use the "relevant games" feature of the blog. That way people who are interested in the games get notified of a feature about a game they like and care about and if your writing is good enough they might stick around and read the stuff that's not about their favoriate game. I await the day that the "relevant issues" thing works properly

In any event, good luck with your new blog
