I've played the core game and recently acquired a used copy with several (unopened) expansion packs. I know in the core game, cards either belong to one or another of the six houses (S, L, B, T, etc...) or are neutral and available for any house - at an increased cost?

My question is, what is the significance of cards bearing an "F" next to their set icon and card number?

It stands for "Fixed" -- in the LCG, there are a fixed number of cards in each Chapter Pack and Deluxe Expansion. This is in contrast to the old CCG, which had R(Rare)/ U(Uncommon), C(Common), and P(Promo) cards.
